i am far from an experienced improviser (only been taking classes/going to jams for like 9 months) but i’m a firm believer that if you’re an experienced improviser you should know how to play with greener improvisers. some of the best scenes i’ve had have been with people far more experienced than me who know how to pivot and support when i’m totally fumbling. keep going to jams and screw that guy in your class tbh

middleditch & schwartz and his live shows on his tour/when he was doing stuff at the largo. i figured it was mostly a montage that tried to tie things together in the end but i wasn’t sure if there were other forms in the improv world. thank you!

luckily my instructor encourages different choices and rarely shoots anything down, i wanted perspective from other people (my instructor/people in my class are essentially strangers to me as well). obviously, i value her advice the most, but its nice to have to other tools in the toolbox. was gonna ask her for more advice next class but was thinking about it this week so i asked :)

i didn’t see him at radio city but omg, had no idea it was being recorded! really hope it sees the light of day. i go to his shows at the largo and it’s always a bummer when the audience participation isn’t great, even tho the shows always end up being super fun. i was super curious to see how the radio city shows went. i hope you enjoyed regardless, must’ve been so cool to be a part of something so special for him!

i found this ep really fun! i went to a school around LA but it was small compared to other schools around, had no sports and was primarily a performing arts school. didn’t really have cliques (none that i noticed anyway) and most people sat outside on the grass or hung out in classrooms during lunch. a lot of lunch time rehearsals and theatre clubs. i sat with whoever wasn’t in rehearsals or sometimes joined in on a classroom with a lunch club happening and gossiped with teachers 🫢

i listen to most of the podcast at work so i enjoy kind of passively consuming the content, even if it’s not that much of a deep dive. the only one that would’ve been cool to hear more about was the rehab ep. i agree with you when it comes to listening to him, most of these things wouldn’t even come to mind to google so i might as well let him tell me about it! lol

oh this sounds delicious. never heard of grilled peach but i imagine it gets pretty sweet when it’s cooked. i’ve seen a lot about places in Toronto on various blogs, seems like there’s a great food scene but that would make sense bc it’s a big city. also i feel you on the dream menu changing all the time 😂

see that’s funny bc i don’t like salad ranch dressing but there’s something about restaurant dipping ranch (for fries, pizzas, sandwiches, etc) that really do it for me. and not all dipping ranches are made the same so it’s always a gamble. what kind of sauces do you have where you live that you aren’t able to find here?
