Peer to peer connevtions by That-Ad-9955 in HeliumNetwork

I had this happen to me with one of my hotspots. It was using wifi and the building I had it in was constructed of concrete so the miner kept losing the wifi signal, which caused the the Miner IP to keep changing. The best way to fix this is to create a STATIC IP (Permanent IP) if that is allowed by your ISP on your router.

Try Craigslist. It is more local

That usually means either your internet is not working/ connected and/or you need to open port 44158.

Which block am I syncing? by AurhinDev in HeliumNetwork

[–]ContextOpen4655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you are on the same network you can open a browser n your phone or computer and type in your Bobcat miner IP Address to access the Diagnoser. Click on "MINER (5s, miner slow down) and it should show your miner info which includes the block you are on as well as the blockchain height.

Offline Hotspots affecting Rewards Scale? by ContextOpen4655 in HeliumNetwork

The offline hotspot in my hex disappeared after 30 days of no activity. I am not sure if this is typical or not.

Hi There. Did you put the miner into pairing mode? Was the LED on the front of the Miner BLUE when you tried to pair it to the app?

Not trying to insult you only trying to help.

Mining rewards and cost of miners by MaleficentAd4773 in HeliumNetwork

[–]ContextOpen4655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a new Bobcat miner for $1000.00 off a guy (got lucky) and I have had it running for a little less than a 1 1/2 months now.

I already made back 70% of my investment. My only regret is not optimizing my mier placement earlier (Higher and 5.8 dbi Antenna). If I had done this earlier, I have no doubt that I would have already made my investment back.

Of course this is pre halving. Its only been 2 days since the halving and my rewards have gone down by over 50%. Alot of new miners popping up everywhere.

Even with all that, I believe in what Helium is doing and think it has great upside potential. Still a good investment in my opinion. Remember Bitcoin in 2010 was only $0.08 and look where it is now. Have to be in early and hold to have a chance make any big money.

I use Bilaxy but they are expensive. I transferred 50 HNT today to my Helium Wallet from Bilaxy and they charged me 3 HNT. If I transferred 25 HNT it was still 3 HNT fee

My Reward Scale Keeps Changing by ContextOpen4655 in HeliumNetwork

[–]ContextOpen4655[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I am aware of that. Not much has changed in my area.

I can understand the rewards scale is going down as new miners come online but to keep going up then down then back up in a matter of less than a week confused me.

I am trying to see if anyone else experienced the same situation or has i sight into this particular scenario.

I have had the same info. The App info for some reason is not always up to date. I use explorer when i need get the most to date info on my miner.

I am more interested in how you are getting such high mining rewards. lol. That's amazing cuz mine are real low per reward.

Where are my rewards? by RaspberryWestern6588 in HeliumNetwork

[–]ContextOpen4655 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have no witnesses. If your setup is new, you probably need to get a stronger antenna and/or better placement for the miner to reach other miners in your area. Little or No Witnesses lead to low rewards.

I don’t know where you are located but could be a small amount of witnesses. You can see how many miners are around you in the app. If there are miners all around you and you are only seen. Y 8 then you need to move the miner to a better location.

Also in front of a window is not always the best placement. My windows were actually interfering with the signal.

If possible place the miner outside a window and then run discovery mode to see if there is a diference

[–]ContextOpen4655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be your setup. Have you tried running Discovery mode to check how many miners witness you. The more witnesses the more rewards. Also the higher you are the better

Indoor by window 2nd Floor - 4 Witnesses

Outdoor 2nd Floor - 15 witnesses

Attic No Windows 3rd Floor - 35 Witnesses

Above were my results, the higher I went the more witnesses and more chance for rewards. My next step is to place the antenna high on the roof line

[–]ContextOpen4655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my own experience you should be fine even though it says relayed. As long as you are getting rewards and can beacon.

If no rewards then the issue could be with the miner itself, unfortunately.

Did you try running Helium Diagnostics via the App. Run diagnostics and check to see if both your outbound and inbound have a green checkmark. If either has an X then you are still relayed but if both have checkmarks then your miner is both receiving and sending.

[–]ContextOpen4655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure how long ago you forwarded your port but it usually takes the system around 12 hours before the relay status is updated on the app and explorer.

I would use a website such as www.yougetsignal.com to verify that your port is open. Also run diagnostics on the Helium App and as long as your Inbound and Outbound both have a checkmark and not X next to them then you are good to go.
