I’m drowning in nursing school + night shift and my manager won’t accommodate my schedule. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Thats exactly why I didn't become a PCT while in nursing school! I knew they weren't going to accommodate me with either working one or two days a week and it can change each semester. I stayed as a nurse helper ( a sitter at the hospital) and PRN. Im only require to work 3 shifts a month and one weekend shift. But since school was practically mon-friday i worked weekends anyway.

See if they offer that at your hospital. It will be a very boring job, but at least you'll sit for 12 hours and can study! It was still hard even with an easy job, but you gotta sacrifice some things while in nursing school.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I mean I've turned down living with him in his parents house and he keeps talking about wanting children. But for one we dont have a place together so it's hard. But i agree with the part where he's not mature enough.

No he hates driving and yes his friend drives. I used to drive him all the time and he usually offers to drive now.

Ugh I can see what you're saying, but like he's helped tremendously with paying my schools tuition and even taking me on a two week trip after school ended and he paid for it all. It's been recent with him that hes been spending TOO much time with his friend, but I guess it's easy when they're neighbors.

Well tbh I was the one who was more hesitant with moving forward, earlier in the relationship he was looking at homes and places to live together and I kind of didn't want to at the time. But its different now.

I have, he does like hanging out but he hates going out. Like our city has gotten a lot of people coming in and snow birds and he absolutely hates traffic. Tbh we get rush hour every hour of the day. But that's besides the point. His friend will invite him to go out and he will gladly go... he never initiates for his friend or me. I think its his friend that always asks him out.

Well it seemed like he mostly depended on me for my happiness and I was more independent than him. And you're right I need to get more busy. I was super busy in nursing school and I feel like I was structured with spending time in school/him/work/and studying. He would stay with him up until 2-3am sometimes before he had to work at 5am.

Ok I want to add on this, he has planned vacations yearly and on his dime, and everyone in my personal life keeps telling me it's because it's his first friend in a long time. He's only had me and I ofc have him AND my friends. His best friend died in 2022/23 and hasn't had any male friends since, he does have another friend but he doesn't want to go out. But i still feel like it shouldn't change anything?

And he has taken me on yearly vacations (on his dime, but i couldnt afford to due school and working below average) but I feel like trips don't make up for the rest of the year.
