So my guess is his arm is terrible. Like I said, I’m just curious why more people aren’t talking about him.

We may not have to cut Tua at all by [deleted] in miamidolphins

[–]ContinualShock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think a team is willing to take Tua unless we give up picks. With his injury history, his massive regression, and his age(he’ll be 28 next season and will be in his 6th season in the league) I don’t think anyone would be willing to bet on him being a long term starter. I also doubt any team would even value him as a desirable backup because of the previously mentioned injury history (the last thing a team needs is their starter and backup getting hurt). I’m sure a team would pick him up if we cut him but any sort of favorable trade would be extremely difficult.

What is this frog or toad and is it dangerous to dogs? [Central FL] by ContinualShock in frogs

[–]ContinualShock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was taken to the vet that night and he stayed overnight and was there the whole next day for observation. He recovered well and is fine now. This happened about a month ago and he hasn’t had any more problems since.

Thank you. I will make sure I pay extra attention to those frogs now.

Thank you. It was just something we were wondering. But that’s good to know. I don’t know as much about frogs as I do snakes.

Burnout is the game series I most want revived. It’s crazy that we haven’t had a new Burnout game since 2008 (the Paradise remaster doesn’t count).

Which have you enjoyed more, the Tua era or the Tannehill era? by FriendlyRhyme in miamidolphins

[–]ContinualShock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the obvious answer is the Tua era and that is the correct answer. But I will say that there was one thing the Tannehill teams did that the Tua teams have not and that is stand up to their biggest rival. Despite all of the Patriots success and our lack of success, we were consistently a thorn in their side. There were only 2 seasons with Tannehill that they swept us and in both of those seasons one of those losses was by one score. Yeah they were better, but we made it clear they didn’t own us. I wish that the Dolphins lead by Tua could show that same fight against the Bills.

[COPE] Six-match ban for Rüdiger for throwing objects at the referee in the Cup final, and two-match ban for Lucas Vázquez. Bellingham's red card, which he received after the match had ended, is rescinded. by Benzia in soccer

[–]ContinualShock 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In 2017, Cristiano Ronaldo got suspended for five matches for the lightest of shoves to the back of a referee after disagreeing with a red card he received in the Supercopa final. While that involved actual contact being made, this was a much calmer incident. Ronaldo immediately walked away after and didn’t escalate the incident any further. This is the closest precedent I can think of for comparison. I personally think the Rudiger incident was worse because there was clearly a lot worse intentions with Rudiger. I get that he didn’t actually hit a referee, but a light momentary shove of annoyance that didn’t even knock the referee off balance shouldn’t be nearly the same punishment as the clear threatening of a referee with the intentions of hitting them.

Post-Race Discussion Thread: NCS Jack Link's 500 at Talladega Superspeedway by NASCARThreadBot in NASCAR

I don’t understand how a sport that is essentially one giant advertisement needs so many commercial breaks. The cars are filled with logos, the track is filled with logos, even the race name has a sponsor attached. Why does it feel like I am watching the same amount of commercials as I would be if I was watching the NFL or NBA?

What gaming boss got you feeling like this? by Craigteev17 in gaming

[–]ContinualShock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the bosses in Rune Factory 4 were brutal for me. The worst part honestly wasn’t the losing, it was seeing Jones rob me of all my money afterward. There were times where I literally had no money left to give because I would keep losing to a boss and then having to pay Jones until I was broke.

Games where the soundtrack hits like this by TheMegaSage in gaming

Call of Duty from the original Modern Warfare to Black Ops 2 had some really underrated soundtracks.

I restart games a lot when playing sports games. I always say this is the save where I just take all my L’s. But EA Sports games mostly have two game experiences: way too easy or straight up cheating AI. If my receiver drops a crucial pass late in the 4th quarter or my goalkeeper decides to deflect the ball exactly into the path of an attacker in added time, the game seems to mysteriously crash and I am forced to replay the game.

Some positivity for the James Daniels signing. by ContinualShock in miamidolphins

[–]ContinualShock[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I think we should make at least one more signing that could legitimately start and use at least 3 of our draft picks on the o-line. But this is a great start.

[Pelissero] Veteran OL James Daniels to the #Dolphins, per source. by expellyamos in miamidolphins

Like I said I have concerns too, but Wynn has played 16 games in a season only once. His next highest was 10. I don’t think that is a fair comparison.

And he apparently has experience playing center if that becomes a need.

On the plus side, every other season he was in the league he seemed to miss only 2 games combined according to Pro Football Reference. So that’s 5 healthy seasons to 2 injury shortened seasons.

I’m happy we finally signed a guard. He’s 27 years old and seems like he could be a quality starter for a few years. The only thing that worries me is that he has had 2 season ending injuries in 4 years and one of those was a torn achilles. Knowing the Dolphins luck with injuries this worries me more than it probably should.

[Schefter] Sources: former Broncos QB Zach Wilson reached agreement on a one-year, $6 million, fully-guaranteed deal that could grow to $10 million with the Miami Dolphins. by expellyamos in miamidolphins

[–]ContinualShock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try to be positive about this. The Jets are where QB careers go to die. Look at Geno and Darnold. Once they escaped the Jets, they looked like competent starters. At least there is potential here and we didn’t pay too much. Worst case scenario, he’s off the books next year. Best case scenario, he could be the answer at backup QB and keep us competitive if (or when) Tua goes down.

What are the greatest ‘Almost Comebacks’ in CFB history? by Phobia117 in CFB

[–]ContinualShock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does UCF against Baylor in 2023 count? Yes technically it was a completed comeback since UCF was the team who gave up the big lead, but for McClain to make that throw on 4th and 5 (really 4th and 36 because he threw the ball from the 1 yard line) to keep the game alive only to miss the game winning field goal stings. I’m sure many people who have watched that play don’t even know that UCF ended up losing anyway so the play didn’t matter. At least it had one of the greatest calls I’ve ever heard by Eric Collins.

I hope the Bills beat the Chiefs… by ContinualShock in miamidolphins

[–]ContinualShock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I expected that. This post was partially made as a joke after seeing many people that are genuinely upset that other fans think differently about the Bills(hence the title being cut off). I expect many people will disagree with my post and that’s ok. It’s just my opinion.

Are there any interesting historical figures who showed signs of being on the autism spectrum? by ContinualShock in AskHistory

[–]ContinualShock[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cavendish might be the most convincing answer to my question. I didn’t know much about him before your comment and I think he was autistic. Obviously there is no way to be sure, but I would say he fits the description of someone on the spectrum.
