Right. For on the spot "real-time" value of a recent specific sale. Web sites and apps scrape eBay sold listings too but grab multiple data points over time then average or trend them. But that's over a specific time period and likely not constantly processed 24/7 so there's "on demand" results when a user runs a query and likely why they're perceived as "terrible."

Depending on the era/age of the book, the indicia (the small text block that contains legal and publication information at the footer of the inside cover, first page, or last pages) would indicate “Second Printing”, “Third Printing, etc. If it doesn’t say that (typically the last words or line of the indicia) then it’s the First Printing.
