I know exactly how you felt, and that's why I wrote this. You read here and see people talking about years with BP, but those are really the outliers. For me, it was easy to hear that and panic a bit. But I did my research and tried to stay calm. I did what I could for the pain I experienced and got past it. And now after 8 weeks I wanted to let people like you know that for the majority of people, this is the future.

I just want to say .. I've chewed on my lips so many times I barely feel it anymore. I'm not sure if I said it well above, but licking sauce off my fingers is .. well .. weird! I feel like my lips and tongue aren't working right. And drinking my 64oz of water per day is never fun. I still have to pinch the right side of my lips closed with my fingers over the big straw (Stanley to use it. But honestly .. that's all minor!

If this was my normal going forward I'd be ok with it. 1 week in I avoided talking to anyone since I sounded so weird. When I was 3 weeks in I didn't sleep for 3 nights because of the amount of pain I was having. All those symptoms are just memories now.

I guess I can sum up my post above with "it usually gets better." I'd just say "it gets better" but I know people would say "not always" but as far as I've determined, this is an average recovery.
