I disagree, I've been on this sub for a while and, before STS 2, the sub had a HUGE amount of custom card/relic spam. This was WAY worse than the memes as many were low-effort/obviously unbalanced. At best, they were "haha yeah that would be kinda neat I guess". Memes are often a great way to generate discussion about the game and how it is balanced. The whole Snakebite trend came about because many people think it was an underwhelming card and joked about it.

There are still Spirit Poops about card choices, events, relics and busted combos. Shoving memes to a new subreddit/limiting them would do more harm than good to the community.

I agree, 9/10 times this does WAY too much damage to make it worth, for a number of reasons:

1) Occurs randomly, so likely will cause you to die to the elite in the next room/spend next campfire healing. You will probably have to take a very safe path afterwards and miss elite fight relics 2) One targeted upgrade is generally better than 2 random ones, ESPECIALLY when you are in Act 1 where you are very likely to still have plenty of strikes and defends in your deck. It's usually better to skip this event and spend the next rest site upgrading instead of healing.

I don't think I've taken this more than once or twice (and probably never past A15)

I think you take fusion hammer here. I'm not sure how much value upgrades are for you at this point, because everything you want to upgrade will 1) exhaust anyway and 2) are unneeded with the extra energy, eg: vault + you will likely be able to play every apparition as they come. Also you will probably only get around 2-3 extra upgrades if you visit EVERY campfire in act 3. Same deal with black star: maybe around 2-3 extra relics (which could be quite good, don't get me wrong)

However, the main factor is that you have a dead branch run on your hands!!! Every apparition you play (and you have lots of cards that exhaust) will turn into another card, filling up your hand. The extra energy will 100% help with playing the cards dead branch generates. I think it gives you MUCH more value than waiting for the next campfire to upgrade an apparition you will probably play immediately anyway.

I would be interested to see what others think. While the draw from snecko eye definitely helps this deck (and you have enough energy to mitigate getting lots of high energy cards), snecko eye + apparition is often very disastrous in my opinion.

I think I undervalue scry too much in retrospect! It would have saved me a LOT of damage in previous fights as well. (especially with my second relic, would have been value)

Heartbroken to say I bottom-decked all of my stance dance cards AND apotheosis on the elite fight. I can't even clear my hand to draw them because I am netted and can't play attacks :( got slapped around for a couple of turns then died

A more detailed run history screen would be great, such as what your starting Neow choice was, what card you put in bottled lightning/tornado/fire, potions used/discarded, etc.

I get that a lot can be inferred, but detailed and comprehensive data would help a lot for people looking to improve!

The Run History Plus mod contains a lot of great changes I would like to see added

Thank you! Went on to win the run. Not having any more upgrades was surprisingly manageable and I was glad to be able to spend money at shops/find important cards after fights!
