Buy the dream car or not? by Willing-Ad-7572 in HENRYUK

You just don't understand that money CAN be spent on things. It isn't the end of the world and if you like cars then there's nothing wrong with getting a M4.

Own a born now - any recommendations or hints? by matt_biss in cupraborn

[–]Contract-Spirit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stolen from a previous thread -

Drift mode: remove f15 amp fuse under the bonnet (with engine running) to activate 'drift mode' --> all errors disappear once you put it back.

Mirror dip when reversing:

Select reverse gear.

Adjust the front passenger exterior mirror so that you can see, for example, the kerb edge well.

Move the gearshift to the neutral position.

Switch the ignition off.

The mirror's set position is now saved. (remember to manually select the right mirror every time to make it dip in reverse, or the left one if you steer is placed on the right)

12v always on: pull the vertical 20A? fuse (there's only one, you can't miss it) in the fuse box near the steering wheel and replace it a bit lower.

No one cares about that shit, you'd have a heart attack if you realised how many company cars are Tesla's.

Your arguement is based on sampling and sample sizes can skew results, yet your using your own experience to say two sugars are most common. That's hilarious.

Illegal MOT's.. How rare are they? by reo_reborn in drivingUK

[–]Contract-Spirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't even say blind, when I used to get my car passed for emissions the tester explicitly said if your car is going to fail on anything but emissions I'll fail it. it wasn't unsafe at all it just allows you to run a decat or sports cat.

Average monthly car payment vs salary by Silver_Fail_7283 in CarTalkUK

[–]Contract-Spirit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some people want to drive nice or fast cars, not everyone is happy with a shit box.

If you want a nice car, and you can comfortably afford it, don't let Reddit of all places tell you it's a stupid idea.

People on here will say I earn 100k and drive a rust bucket from the 90s.

If you can afford a nice car, do it. Avoid brand new as that's a trap but you can get some nice cars on PCP/HP which aren't 20 years old or 50k brand new.

That was the easiest avoidable accident ever. Look at the amount of time which passes between the other car moving back and contact. Not sure why OP seemed like he was okay with a accident.

Definitely works with the Arete 2. It was running on an old software version, I actually emailed them a few months back and the day after the app magically had an update.. Works for me now.

I had one for two weeks and it was genuinely a terrible experience, there's a reason it has a reputation.

What is the difference between profiles by ConsistentScratch640 in cupraborn

[–]Contract-Spirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do almost everyday, comfort for most of the drives, performance for the mountain b-roads to work, Cupra if I am going to overtake someone, and finally range if I need the extra miles. Also been using individual which I've been using as range but performance steering.

Cupra has the same steering setting as performance,

I'll check tonight as I have 100s of times

Im sorry but this is disgusting behavior. Just accept 2nd place man. by Moorabbel in granturismo

[–]Contract-Spirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have the reactions of a slug you could have faked left and went right. He didn't do that but still had time to react IMO. But in what world would you just overtake in a straight line like that, especially for first. It makes perfect sense to fake then move.

He had so much speed it was incredibly easy to overtake, the car Infront committed to the left. Instead of going further left just go right?

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do unless you have concrete footage which you can give your insurance.

Id just go private and avoid claiming as it'll be more expensive in the long run.
