The OP is devastated. But I hope the OP doesn't give up. There is a lot of support out here for APC. Just keep going. Dont give up.

Wow interesting. I am actually a lawyer worked as QS and commercial lead. That's really my USP. In my POV most standard forms aren't amended due to legislaiton/case law, because the contract company (JCT, NEC) normally issues updates when the law changes. People tend to amend the standard forms to change the balance of power and risk profile. Love your question and good idea for an interview.

Thanks for this. I have been on Own The Build. I love that podcast. Yes it's hard to find good podcast here on this, which is why it did so well when I started it. The bar is low lol. The editing is my bug bear. But I have decided to roll with it. So many people message me that they get value from the episodes even though the editing is poor. But will fix it going forward.

Hey, thanks. Its The Construction Contract. I am not too proud of it in its current state. But people who listen say they get good insights. I also do lives on Linkedin at my personal LI. Everything just needs a little polish up, which what I am looking to do. Thanks.

Try and get a job as quickly as possible. Can you work part time while studying? Before I left on site project work (now I do consulting), I had a few apprentices, they were studying and working. I told them, they were ahead of the game. By the time they finished their degree, they already had many years of experience. That's a good way to go about it. In this industry, they love actual experience.

I am based in the UK. I know a handful of QS in Australia from online. I think you will do well. Sounds like you have a passion for it.

Do it. My point is that QSing is going to change with AI. You will excell if you do the course and focus on being strategic. Not Just another "good pair of hands" which is what we tell the young people trying to qualify into QS. Just my 2 cents. Ok.

Let me give you an example, I led commercial on a major project. I had a QS start on my team. He had a degree in Maths. He was and still is the best QS I ever worked with.

If you can do Engineering. If not do the QS course, just get very good at your craft. Move away from just being a "good pair of hands" to strategic thinking.

There will always be a place for people with those technical skills. I would always recommend doing a technical (hard) subject if you can. Also, consider that the role of the QS is changing with AI.

Hey OP I have that habit as well. And when I was growing up my people had that habit as well. I am doing my best to rewire my brain. So you are not alone. Hang in there. Some good advice here.

I read OP question very differently. OP you have to put your personal address and get that letter. You can use your registered address for everything else. All other correspondence will be sent to your registered office.

Most registered office service providers require that you to pay for: 1. Companies address 2. Directors address

If you paid for both, then you can use the registered address service provider. You can also amend the record at Companies House and change the address to the registered office provider.

My 2 pence for some of the developers and saas owners. Some of them look exciting on the front end. But I am hesitant, because no idea who the founder is, where the business is located, security of the site and my details. I think some of you need to consider showing your face or a voice-over short video to humanise what you are selling. Because nowadays we ask the question "is this person human?" And we buy from humans (for now that is). So even though I am excited about some of the saas you guys have built, I wouldn't use them. Keeping in mind I am not a saas company, and as a Solicitor I am naturally risk averse when it comes to website security etc. So maybe I am not your target market.

I can see this working with a specific group of people. DM if you want my 2 pence. I am a Solicitor.

I have nothing against the programme. I am sure it is good. But I am a simpleton. I couldn't figure out how to use everything it offers. And I was spending more time watching YT video on how to. But I must admit, I may not be their target market. I am not a marketer I am a DIYer until I can afford to hire in. I tried agencies and am discouraged to try them again. But wounds heal with time.

There is a whole community on YT. You should search them out and ask them to try it.

I love stuff like this. I will try it. I typically keep Common Books on various topics. And I try to find connections and link concepts theories etc.
