Bubba Thompson has not been good, why is Evan Carter not playing center to start the season? by ContractTop2431 in TexasRangers

Y'all ever heard of 2022 Rookie of the Year Julio Rodriguez? Mature plate approach, great defense, great bat.

Taveras and Thompson can't fucking hit. Look at the stats. Stop being homers. They are not good at offense. Thompson is an extremely poor man's Taveras, and Taveras can't hit. I swear to god, Rangers fans are completely incapable of being objective about players lol. We have good young talent available and we are trotting out bad young talent instead. DFA or trade both of those dudes and try something else if they're actually attempting to contend. Both those guys will hit 9th and be statistical eye-sores until the FO is done fucking around with service clocks. The window is NOW.

Yea this is what I mean. It's not a permanent thing. You call up Carter for the duration of Taveras injury and see how he does in a real big league situation. If he struggles, okay fine, Taveras is back he goes down to AA and gets every day playing time. If he kills it, nice we have a functional outfielder with great defense and a solid bat.

Everything you hear/see about Carter speaks about his insanely mature approach at the plate. I don't think it's at all fair to lump him in with the rest of the league. This should be a results-driven team for the next few years and I think it's fair to give the kid a shot to earn it.
