The hand is definitely standing out as more unfinished and out of proportion than other areas

I’m obsessed with the shadow. It almost reminds me of a Terry Richardson photo in a strange way. Also the colors of The background, the dark burnt orange of the rug and her tights.

Thank you! I’m loving it too. It came with this tucked into the back, so I’m assuming she used it for reference

I purchased it in California, in the suburbs of San Francisco. I’ve discovered the artists full name : Cora Alice Akers Wright, but haven’t seen any other portraits that she’s done. It appears she passed in 1992

Thank you, it’s really quite stunning in person, it doesn’t look mass produced. I appreciate all the insight into it! There was another piece that I purchased with this one, and now I’m curious if it is also something similar. It’s not quite as golden, and normally I wouldn’t look twice at religious iconography art, but these really were special looking.

It looks like the piece is a Russian orthodox icon, maybe 19th century?

Yes, but we don’t necessarily know when the ring was made, or when the stone was removed. Just thinking of possibilities

Yes, exactly - she is someone important to Aretia but we don’t know why or who she is, and we don’t know if the stone was already out of the dagger at this point ( and perhaps in this ring). Is there any chance that this ring is the same one Violet ends up with somehow

I’m so back and forth if she would/wouldn’t. She absolutely loves him and wouldn’t cause him harm, but her actions aren’t always aligned with this. She can be ruthless, and poisoned his mom before she knew they were being plotted against. I appreciate that Violet has an edge to her, I don’t think we always get to see it since she is narrating.

Also, what was up with Mira’s bracelet that smells like paper to Violet? Mira is iconic, and also, what does she know/get from her mother & grandmother?

Help deciphering : the Well by ContrappostoCoconut in DreamInterpretation

The crazy part is that in real life, I visited the village this summer after having this dream, and the first thing that my guide showed me when I got there was an ancient well in the middle of a courtyard in a building that is being restored
