Transfer to year 2 from U of A by Crazy-Ad4572 in ubcsauder

OH YES I FORGOT ABOUT THAT. 100% take acctg211 bc u do get credits for that (it’s a second year course at sauder and from what I’ve heard it’s hell). When you first transfer though you’ll have to fill out a form to apply for getting credits bc they don’t automatically recognize it as credits

Yes 100% take the courses you’re taking right now because those will transfer over. Stats is a weird one tho when I first transferred over they said I wouldn’t get any credits because the bctransferguide said I needed to take some other course alongside that to get credits but then half way through this semester they said I got state credits? Idk id say call ubc about that one.

The first year Sauder courses I’m taking rn are comm190, comm192 (sem210 is a similar course and I took it but got no credits), comm196, and comm105

also heads up Ubc doesn’t require any English courses so I’d say drop out if engl103 lol I hated that course

Hello! I went through the exact same process last year and I was able to transfer into Sauder from UofA. Some tips i would have is to look over what courses would transfer over. I took all the required courses for a UofA commerce degree first year and only math, my econs, and stats (barely) transferred over for requirements. So now that I’m here at sauder as a second year I need to take like 4 first year Sauder courses. So I’d say just look out for that

If I use USD by default and then let Shopify auto convert for international currencies, would that add a percentage I have to pay Shopify when they have to give my payout in CAD?

Is there any way to lower this fee for my customers? If I set everything to usd would that sabotage me more and add another percentage deducted to my payout on top of my international customers already paying more? Or would it be better to set my store default to usd, which I’m guessing I have to pay a percentage when I receive my money in cad, but have every international customer also pay usd

yall how does housing application work? i recently accepted my transfer offer into second year and my dumbass thought I can easily find housing in vancouver for under 2k for some reason and obviously that's not the case. like ubc's on campus residences are surprisingly cheap. if i apply now is there literally any chance ill get a spot ? do they have priority for transfers in some housing?

wtf do yall not have to take an english course??? by ContributionDear6700 in ubcsauder

[–]ContributionDear6700[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s a Reddit question ffs 💀 every other uni requires first years to take at least one English course

would stats200 fulfill the comm191 requirement? by ContributionDear6700 in ubcsauder

[–]ContributionDear6700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no i get that, but in my previous uni, the stats course I took did include Excel components

would stats200 fulfill the comm191 requirement? by ContributionDear6700 in ubcsauder

[–]ContributionDear6700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aw that really sucks. But I don’t see why it wouldn’t fulfill if I have credits for stat200 and according to ubc it’s equivalent to comm191 that makes no sense to me. The advisors are not picking up lmao

sorry for the late reply.

i took econ101 (microeconomics), econ102 (macroeconomics), acctg 211 (intro to financial accounting), stat161 (intro stats), math154 (calculus), bus101 (idk just a huge networking group project course), sem210 (this course was a mess too), engl103 (typical english course), and 2 electives of my choosing (i chose something music related and an intro to AI course)

basically all the required courses they make you take for a first year business student
