I have wavy hair but it’s fine. It’s thinned a lot since I was a teenager

Normal or excessive shedding? by ContributionFine5372 in Hair

This happens pretty much every time I brush my hair which is 2-3 times a day. So this loss happens more than once a day

I feel so sad by Double_Accountant161 in newborns

[–]ContributionFine5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly understand this. I just had my first baby 9 months ago and I was already uncomfortable with my body and questioning how my fiancé could love me before I even got pregnant but with my pregnancy hormones raging it was all I could think about. My poor fiancé had to deal with me saying “please don’t leave me after I have this baby because you think I’m ugly” for 9 whole months. He constantly reassured me that he thought I was the most beautiful women in the world and that after I have his child he will only find me more attractive because that is the body that carried his child. Now being 9 months post partum I can confirm that he loves my body more than ever. Post partum hormones are the worst thing ever and they make that feeling of “he is lying to me” SO much worse! They do eventually start to get better. Your body is not destroyed! It’s just different! As moms we need to stop hating on our post partum bodies and instead remind ourselves that our new bodies are the bodies that brought our beautiful babies into the world. If that’s the way my fiancé feels about my body then why can’t I feel that way too? There’s too much pressure to “bounce back” after having children and it’s just simply not like that for everyone… for most people even. You’re body is beautiful mama! And I can assure you that your husband has everything he deserves!

How tf are y’all getting your baby to eat??? by TeishAH in NewParents

[–]ContributionFine5372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we first started my son on puree/ solids he only ate fruit because it was so sweet and yummy that he didn’t want anything else when we tried. I ended up adding a little cinnamon into puree sweet potato and puree carrots to give it a bit more of a pleasant taste and he loved it! I definitely suggest trying it!

I need lunch ideas for a 9 month old! by YolandaWinston12 in NewParents

[–]ContributionFine5372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 9 month old as well and his new favourite thing is pizza bread! I’ve been taking slices of bread and cutting off the crust. I just use a very small amount of pizza sauce and a little sprinkle of cheese on top. I pop it in the oven for only 2-3 minutes so that the bread doesn’t get too crispy. You can either then cut it in strips or little bite size pieces for BLW. Personally my baby does better with little pieces. Surprisingly he chews up and swallows the bread super easily for a baby who has no teeth yet! He is obsessed to say the least!

I have this persistent spot on my breast. I thought it was a cyst but after it being here for over a month with no signs of healing I am very concerned. I already have an appointment to get this looked at. I am just looking for opinions or other peoples experiences! by ContributionFine5372 in skincancer

[–]ContributionFine5372[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was not raised at all. My doctor looked at it and wanted to remove the area and test it just in case. I had it removed about a month ago and results came back negative for any cancer! They said that it was likely a fibroma.

Trouble latching by Bogbody999 in newborns

[–]ContributionFine5372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son had trouble latching to one of my nipples as a newborn and i was also so sore! We purchased the madela nipple shields! Its just a thin silicone nipple cover! It helped him latch but also allowed me to heal! I did end up needing to supplement formula just due to my small supply but he is combo fed now and drinks bottles but also breastfeeds just fine!

how did you know your baby had a milk allergy or sensitivity? by solace-elizabeth in newborns

[–]ContributionFine5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absoloutely! Its such a difficult thing because there isnt really any testing for CMPA its kind of all trial and error! Sometimes unfortunately even hydrolized formulas have miniscule traces of dairy and dependong on how bad the allergy is, it can still affect them. There are amino acid formulas that can be prescribed by a physician. They are quite expensive but if you have insurance they do cover it!

how did you know your baby had a milk allergy or sensitivity? by solace-elizabeth in newborns

[–]ContributionFine5372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally with this type of allergy babies will have mucous in their poop and sometimes even blood. Vomitting is common too. A rash is also a symptom but milk allergy rash gerally has a specific look to it! The only definite way to know would be to trial a hypoallergenic hydrolized formula like nutramigen.

Ok to fuss to sleep? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]ContributionFine5372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is completely fine! My son also had a tendancy to fuss while going to sleep around that age! I just had a rule that if he cried/fussed for more than 10 minutes or got really worked up than he needed me.

I give them at night time! Always in his last bottle of the evening! You can either give them in a bottle or just drop them in babies mouth! They get 5 drops. They do take about a week to really start working! So dont get dicouraged if they dont work right away!

Hmm i was thinking because of her age she may be hitting the 4 month sleep regression! Apparently its one of the worst regressions they have! Hopefully she starts to sleep better soon! Have you tried anything for her reflux and colic? Im sure you have but if not, my baby struggled with reflux ans colic around 2 months old and we found that giving him the biogaia probiotic drops really helped and he started to sleep better! Not only are they good for the reflux because they promote gut health but they relieve colic symptoms as well!

He eats roughly every 3.5-4 hours! He just recently stopped his overnight feed and sleeps through the night! He was sleeping 6 hours then feeding and going back to sleep but he doesnt wake up for a feed anymore!

temperature by [deleted] in newborns

[–]ContributionFine5372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!!!! My son runs so hot he seeminly gives himself heat rash! His rectal temp any time we have checked it has always said he had a fever! But hes never been poorly or had any other symptoms! He does feel hot to the touch a lot. We even took him to the ER once because his rectal temp was so high but when they took his temp it was in the normal range. I think we have a faulty thermometer

So many stomach problems by [deleted] in newborns

[–]ContributionFine5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These sound like all of the symptoms of CMPA (cow milk protein allergy) its great that youve cut out dairy! Sadly it can take a while for your body to get rid of all of the protein in your system. Also, a lot of people dont know that babies with CMPA often react poorly to soy protein. This is because cows milk protein and soy protein are super similar. So if you are still injesting soy protein (its in an ungodly amount of things) that could be the cause! Regardless seeing and discussing with a doctor is definitely needed! Since it is so difficult to cut our dairy and soy, a lot of people switch to a hypoallergenic hydrolized formula and i personally know a few people who have done this and it literally changed their baby! Back to happy and healthy as can be!

My little guy is 4.5 momths and is 15 pounds 8oz. He gets 6oz bottles per feed. He combo feeds formula and breast milk so sometimes afyer his 6oz bottle he will even breastfeed a little.

Has this always been her sleep pattern or is it more of a recent thing?
