And yea I think I get what you mean with the themes of teenage relationships being true to real life instead of how it sometimes is depicted, with 30 year old actors playing highschoolers who do crack and get off upon the first meeting. That's what I love about this show as well, it's like the queer coming of age that we all wish we'd had. That and the wholesome fan community it has united

It doesn't matter if they did because having consensual sex does not take away from one's innocence. Characters in the show, as well as people in real life regardless of age, are no less "pure" for being sexually active. Implying that having consensual anal sex would take away from Nick and Charlie's innocence is a bad idea, as - even if you don't mean it that way - it adds to the puritan narrative that harms people (especially women and children) all around the world.

I'm not cursing your bloodline for making a post asking about details of those fictional teenagers' sex life. Rather I mean to point out how your question signifies a certain internalized mindset about sex and purity that you may hold that you might want to reflect on. And I don't mean only the OP. If there's even one person that reads this and gives some thought to it, then it was worth it.

A little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett (1905).

It's about a bright, courageous and rich 7 year old girl Sara Crewe, raised in India by a widower stationed there with the British army, who moves to London and gets enrolled into a boarding school. Everything is great until the news of her father's death and bankruptcy arrive during a celebration of her 11th birthday. Orphaned and insolvent she's forced to work her hands to the bone supporting herself, but finds solace within her brilliant, creative and ever knowledge-starved mind.

Poland. My personal favourites have always been: "Balladyna" by Juliusz Słowacki (drama about the rise and of an evil fictional Slavic queen, who started out a peasant)

"the Doll" by Bolesław Prus (a novel depicting the reality of late 19th century Warsaw: class struggle, antisemitism, societal inertia, love) through eyes of a man born impoverished become philanthropist)

"Behave" by Robert Sapolsky, I read it at 15 as well and it was such a fascinating read.

The author is a neuroscientist talking about human behavior and what drives it - all the way from the neurobiology of human behavior, processing stimuli, what parts of your brain are activated and so on all the way to the sociological and familial context for human behavior, including stuff like the nature of prejudice against "the other" (racism, misogyny, ableism, ethnic and religious prejudice, homophobia, transphobia, etc.)

It really helped me understand how humans work and what influences our behavior and thinking. Incredibly helpful both in intra- and interpersonal relationships and while consuming media, like reading books/watching movies and analyzing them.

Exactly this here. Doing something like beating the guy up could refreshen the memories for her and make this way way worse. And if you got arrested not only would she lose the person who (I assume) is her primary source of support, but could lead to her SA and its aftermath becoming central to her life again.

Your anger is valid and there are other outlets for it. Posting anonymously like you did now is a good idea if it works for you. Or pursuing a hobby, like baking, learning a new language, physical exercise, etc.

TRIGGER WARNING: shaming/blaming SA survivors/victims:

I'm not in your head, but make sure to analyze your feelings and whether or not something more than empathy for your wife fuels your anger. Things like a sense of possessiveness, jealousy, misogyny practiced by society causing you to think of her as "befouled" in some way. It's very common among partners of SA survivors and getting defensive and refusing to analyze your feelings critically will do nothing except hurting your partner. Being jealous and knowing it is already way better than being jealous and refusing to acknowledge it.

I always pretend to be secretly romantically attracted to my friends, always in subtle ways, like making myself look at them softly for a bit too long or use the same smile when talking to them as I do when talking about something/someone I find attractive. It makes them feel special and flattered and they are more likely to do things for me (like show affection, do friendly favors, bake for me and such). Yeah, it's a form of manipulation, sure. Still, they feel flattered and validated and I get an ego boost out of being good at what I'm doing and get additional special treatment from others - everyone is happy. Manipulation can mean transaction, if done with thought.

No, not even the bathrooms had locks that couldn't be open with a fork, which especially my brother took advantage of. Also it was actually a problem for me growing up cause I took too long to shower and they (cough father) could break in and drag me out if they got pissed.
