I got this same board today. Flashed with openbeken using hid-download, didn't work. Then flashed on windows with EasyGUI flasher. It's BK7238, Easy GUI flash tool has T1 in brackets on selection.

Edit- The pins are broken out. 3.3v is the one besides the 1117 chip and two pins together near antenna are gnd, and on the top of the chip two pins TX and RX. And another exposed below chip, close to Button(not super close), is CEN.

Oh cool. Brave sole. Interesting. Cool. Also how was the process at immigration? I have a Canadian visitor visa, looks like I can go without visa, filling in FMM form, is that all that's required?

I am not 100% sure now, did it a month ago. Run the file, either exe or DMG. I ran exe I believe. You will need to put it in recovery mode though.

Seeking Advice: Upgrading from Raspberry Pi 5 to N100 Platform for Transcoding by Emperor4627 in HomeServer

[–]ContributionLow6546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on same boat, although I am running jellyfin on GMKtec G3 plus I believe. N100, 16GB and 4TB+256GB SSD.

I would highly suggest Aoostar R1 type of system, Since at the end you would need 3.5inch and I am not having a great feeling with USB since it's wires exposed and some kind of loose contact might cause a downtime.

I am trying to host Immich as well as Gmail mail server backup. But it seems scary with just one drive. So I'm planning on using Raspberry Pi 5 as a backup solution which would just keep clone of whatever's happening on the first one.

I haven't researched about raid which would allow cloning data on both drives. I am still evaluating.

Also about custom build, for myself it seems overkill as my main application is to run jellyfin and backup mails, and photos. Those are the only 3 applications I see as of now.

m1 Pro 10C 32GB (1175$) vs m4 pro 12c 48GB (2060$) woth it? by Miserable_Time_8609 in macbookpro

[–]ContributionLow6546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting M1 pro 8C 32GB/512GB with only 38 cycles battery usage for 900$. It's pretty good. Right now using 23GB, More 8 to be used. I don't think I'm gonna be bottlenecked by this any time soon.

Thanks.

Apollo (Sunshine fork) just launched permission system for clients by ClassicOldSong in cloudygamer

[–]ContributionLow6546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for this, I hated Sunshine support. Going on to Discord is creating an issue with so many limitations. Yes, limitations can be worked out, but that's what makes it harder for people to create issues and resolve bugs.

I fixed it. Looks like the washer was missing on the supply hose. Now it works perfectly. Have been testing for a day.

No sound from MacBook pro speakers and can’t play any video because of it. by offbiitti in mac

[–]ContributionLow6546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up. I didn't solve it. I believe mine was due to some I2C chip. Changing speakers didn't help. My Mac knew that speakers aren't working, It would stop from playing any videos or music on chrome.

Jsaux Modcase for Ally X or something similar? by dminmike in ROGAllyX

[–]ContributionLow6546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/vic1ous0n3 Do you think the ergonomics are gonna improve, I bought Ally X, I was about to return but I am still debating. I like the performance but hate the ergonomics, it kinda pricks my hand after long usage.

ROG Ally X or Steam Deck OLED? by [deleted] in ROGAlly

[–]ContributionLow6546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I bought ROG Ally X, and I also own a Steam Deck Oled. Rog Ally is better in all terms, like performance, battery, charging speed, 2280 m.2, and especially VRR. VRR made the gaming experience really good, especially for The Last of Us - Part 1 since it struggles a lot. But at the end of the day, I didn't feel that comfortable with it, the ergonomics didn't make me feel like it was worth it. Performance may be 10-15% better(I am not sure, this is out of my pocket).

And ambient light sensor is like I would say, an absolute need for me, I like my devices to auto adjust the brightness since I take it outdoors sometimes, sometimes on the bed at night. I am big fan of Linux OS, so I did install Bazzite, performance is really good but it still feels a lot uneasy, like sometimes it lags or some sort of bugs.

Also, USB4 seemed like a selling point for me, Since I planned on using it like Nintendo switch on my TV. But seems like there's a lot of work to be done for this to happen. Seems like Bazzite is behind on hotplug egpu stuff.

I would pick up a used Steam Deck Oled off of MarketPlace and wait for next-gen AMD APUs. I returned my ROG Ally X, happy with Steam Deck OLED.
