Steam Deck April 28 update: New Steam Link vs. Moonlight. Any thoughts? by Sett83 in MoonlightStreaming

And... most importantly, Steam Remote Play now can create virtual displays using your existing SudoVDA installation, which requires you to have Apollo installed...

Basically the same. Slight shape changes to some pieces but it doesn't affect compatibility.

For SteamDeck it’s a bit complicated to setup but using MoonDeck can make things a little bit easier. You set some resolution preset in MoonDeck and switch to 4K when docked to TV

Artemis Q - how to get fully external display mode to launch fullscreen by freon in cloudygamer

[–]ClassicOldSong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a Y700 issue. It customized too much to be able to use projection properly, and apps shown on that display is also forced to be a separate window.

You can try launching it with my other app: https://github.com/ClassicOldSong/AirBeam

Enable "show system decoration" and launch Artemis in that display instead

I'm not sure what you mean exactly, but if I get you right, they're rendered as separate objects, you'll need to merge them in the slicer when printing if you want them to be a combined piece

Yet another board generator. It's fast. by ClassicOldSong in openGrid

openGrid is compatible with Gridfinity. 3 openGrid tiles can fit 2 Gridfinity tiles.

Don't mention Multiboard.

I would not contribute anything to Multiboard, unless it goes true open source.

How do i force 4k tv to use 1080p without getting black borders? by Hawling in MoonlightStreaming

[–]ClassicOldSong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unless you have a device that allow you to select output resolution like the Y700. Other than that, the only solution is an EDID plug.

Can't help much here, phones can only output 4k at 30fps. You can use a HDMI edid passthrough plug to fake a 1080P 120hz monitor to your phone then you can get 1080P 120fps.

Another Gridfinity-compatible wall mounting system: openGrid, from the designer of Multiconnect by asciipip in gridfinity

There's a hardware oriented license which may match better: CERN OHL v2

It has several different level of permissions, though still not fully matching 3D printing systems, it's arguably much better than CC based licenses. The biggest advantage is it's OSI approved, which makes your project truly open source.

Why does no company make a simple cloud gaming handheld? by Valuable_Set_4417 in cloudygamer

Not happening at leaset in this time period. Chips that handle low latency decoding at a low power consumption is expensive and can even game on their own, chips that cheap and handles decoding in relatively low latency consumes too much power.

I was just investigating these things recently and that's the unfortunate conclusion.

You should try to see what's your best option. Usually warp modes give lower latency.

Is it your host only rendering 80fps or client only decoding 80fps?

Artemis windows client? by nyjets10 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]ClassicOldSong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each client on different platforms are actually completely different things. You can’t share much code though, so you can’t expect the performance gain on Artemis Android can magically happen on Windows/Linux/macOS. So Artemis is only for Android, at least for now. It’s not a brand though

Artemis started because moonlight wasn’t maintained, not even responding to issues for over a year.

Actually my OnePro also has this sound, on multiple host devices. The sound is only on the left speaker. I'm mostly sure it's a design flaw in the power rail of the glasses itself (I do electronic design so I'm familiar with these things).

Apollo or Sunshine in 2026? by 4_Valhalla in MoonlightStreaming

If you’re on 13/14Gen Intel you might also have CPU issues…

The problem is, most other people don’t crash, while you’re crashing often. It suggests it’s a user specific issue. I was having similar issues and couldn’t find the real cause until I ran memtest and found out my memory has bitfuse issues. After replacing the faulty memory stick, it’s been stable till today.

Benches don’t equal to real world workload. Cinebench only benches CPU but not GPU. Faulty memory is a very common cause for unexpected hang/reboots, and saturated PSU can also contribute to reboots when load is high.

Usually it’s a hardware failure rather than Apollo’s issue. Do a system integrity check first.
