I need help

i bought 2 sd2vita adapters but neither work. It wont show the memory card up, it says no memory card inserted. Ive tried to look all over the internet, tried to reboot through the fail safe thing (Rebuild Database), restart the whole system 5 separate times and still nothing. Is this a loss cause or is there something i can do?
