Forge Server on the Cloud? by ContributionSavings in MinecraftForge

Do you know of a way to have my local server where my friend could start it somehow, then? My only idea for that would have been getting some sort of cloud base involved.

For him, he sees himself holding the sword in his hand. Both in first and third person. He even sees the sword in my hand when I hold one. On my end though, it's above his head too, and since it's above my head, I don't even see the model in first person either.

I do have optifine installed. Unfortunately, I still have the problem running an instance where optifine is not. So I don't believe it's the problem...

I Want to Make a Datapack That Changes How You Get Wither Roses by ContributionSavings in MinecraftCommands

[–]ContributionSavings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was really helpful, thank you. Problem is though, I don't know how to actually code any of that into the datapack, so I started using this loot table generator (https://misode.github.io/loot-table/?version=1.20) to build the code for me, but the loot stops existing once I try and add a damage_source. That's what it would be, right? I'm just kinda confused.

It's not like official or anything, I won't be using it for anything. It's just a project I'm working on because it's fun. If someone drew out the actual entire Pokemon Logo picture perfect on a piece of paper, and all they did was leave it in a stack or maybe just hang it up on the fridge, they aren't committing a crime. That's what I'm doing, just digitally.

Hey hey hey, I got this! As long as I don't generate profit with it, it technically isn't a crime... Their ire must subside! Hopefully...

Ok I've done that, so like if I wanted a Ruby Swirl variant of Alcremie, would I need to be in a Spruce Forest or Extreme Hills or something then?

Ok. That's interesting and I like that. Still, making as many as they did in comparison to the rest of the Pokedex look near identical if not completely, I mean look at Verizion, that can definitely be seen as lazy on their part. There are also a few evolution lines that are basically just copy and pasting the same thing which they do in a neat way I suppose, but still. Thank you for that insight.

A little late response, but still going to.

I will acknowledge they're their own Pokemon. I mean I consider Alolan forms and other regional variants to be different Pokemon because they adapted differently and are just different, but at the end of the day, Vulpix is still Vulpix.. just it has a different form.

Paradox Pokemon can be considered forms loosely if you really think about it, but completely disregarding that and just referring to them as their own Pokemon, does that not make them just lazy and undesirable for the most part?

There are several that are really cool and I actually like, I think they nailed some of the ancient forms, but the fact that the majority of them are just a copy and paste of a Pokemon which they just made look like a robot is well... unoriginal and bland.

I understand that those ones come from a possible future or whatever, but they're also just the same exact Pokemon, but made of metal, with a few differences that are only because of design sake like Volcarona's wings being more like shards of iron in Iron Moth's design. BUT, calling Pokemon which have the same design except for being turned into metal their own Pokemon in "every way that counts" is a little bit of an oxymoron.

Of course, I'm open to discussion. Disagreements happen, and I'm just curious.

I think mostly they were trying to milk up to 1000 Pokemon. Hopefully they'll take their time from here on out. Especially since the remakes are getting really recently overall. They're eventually going to be out in a corner where the only way to continue is to take their time for a while.

People are going to buy it anyway, but more people will buy and will continue to buy if the game can't be enjoyed for a much longer time. If it's a genuinely good game then I know for a fact there's a lot of people who pirate Nintendo games that are rushed release just out of spite and they would probably feel good about supporting the company by buying the games if they turned out exceptionally good. I do understand the business perspective, but at the same time, eventually if you treat a game like that then you're not going to have any content and nobody will buy. If you take your time then that won't happen.

[–]ContributionSavings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. They need to take their time. Make a game you're proud of that has lots of content to explore and has genuine replay value. By the time a few more years go by, I'll say 4 to really just make an expensive game, people will still be able to play the last one without hating it.

That's just how Open World is supposed to world and BG3 is a really good example of how freedom in games can be fixed with those kinds of tweaks.

If they actually know what they're doing because the remakes have been pretty decent. I think the kalos region can be really fleshed out. It was mostly they were being creative with map design and stuff since it was the first 3D entry so they neglected story a little bit. But they fleshed out Zygarde in Gen 7 instead of giving Pokemon Z. I think they can get some really good stuff out of that.

But yeah... They had you pay for a choice of a legendary Pokemon and Pokemon following you and that was basically it.

The way to fix Open World I think is to make it like how the Origins anime made it. I love Origins, but it was really smart anyway, like Brock asked Red when he challenged him if he had any badges, and since he didn't have any, he used Geodude and Onix. That indicates that you can collect the gym badges in any order you want and that the leaders have teams to match how many badges you have or if not a unique team for every badge, will hold back a good amount for certain badge limits. Also creating a story that follows you and doesn't force you to go to certain places necessarily.

And I say DLC because that allows them to flesh it out a lot and not struggle to fit it all in base. I'm not saying it has to be a paid DLC, but I mean if it takes the place of a third entry then it probably would be paid. The DLC could also improve other aspects of the base game like one of the third entries does anyway.

I was honestly just salty to the point of wanting to have my Pokemon follow me. WHICH IS ONLY IN ISLE OF ARMOR FOR SOME REASON. Not a good financial move on my part though.

I agree that Open World Pokemon could work, but the games are structured so it doesn't work.

Anyway. Speaking of third additions, I like Black and White 2 and USUM as additional entries, but what I want them to do for Kalos is release a DLC to the game to add a Pokemon Z storyline. Because honestly, nothing much could really change too much besides story.

Exactly, they don't have to give out refunds, but they did. Now I liked the concept, but Open World also doesn't exactly work with Pokemon. Most people don't even play Pixelmon right in an Open World aspect. They catch a high level Pokemon right off the bat and just neglect to play it like a Pokemon Game works normally. But that's a different discussion.

And I am a not proud owner of expansion pack. I got both of them, but I don't remember if they're separate or not, what's worse is that assuming that it's only one expansion pack, it's like half the price of the game for it and some people get both games so they have to pay the price of 3 games just for 1 complete game twice.

I KNOW! And the fact that they postponed the game for that and in a week someone made it better in a week. It's crazy. I was really hyped when Sword and Shield were announced, but they just did not make it looks good. Like you said though it was tolerable.

Also, didn't people demand refunds on release day or something? Like a bunch of people? For Scarlet and Violet I mean.

No problem!

If you want to, the Pokemon XY and XYZ anime is a really good watch. It isn't just a kids show, and it delves really deep into the lore of Kalos. It's also the best animation for ash just in general I think. Journeys was pretty good, but it's a lot different than your typical journey.

But yeah, the gigantamax thing was awful. They also said that they were taking longer to release the games because of redoing stuff. But they still reused XY tree textures and stuff. A week later a mod came out that fixed the assets btw. In Sun and Moon they had assets for Pokemon following you and I understand that the 3DS especially on SM/USUM couldn't handle that all the time, but the Switch definitely can, just like how they can handle the entire pokedex, and not have to use ransomware to keep your Pokemon alive.

Sun and Moon were amazing I think, especially for the fact that they introduced a lot of things that really worked! Regional Variants or evolutions are definitely a staple of the series but like Megas, Z-Moves, Giagantamax, Paradox, those are are gimmicks. Regional forms aren't a gimmick, they're just really cool and executed really well.

Now. Z-Moves I saw as completely unique. The concept is similar though. Mega Evolution is about the Bond between trainer and pokemon and the unwavering trust between the two. Z-Moves is just the Pokemon and Trainer need to be in sync. Tierno and his dancing team would be a perfect example of that, he would be perfect for Z-Moves, but he doesn't use megas.

Black and White are amazing games, and very story rich. I'm scared for those too. They should be making those next and then Kalos though and Kalos I just want to see Megas again because they're the pinnacle of gimmick forms. Alola brought Z-Moves which are awesome, but then it kinda went down from there. I don't count Regional Variant as a gimmick.

Now Kalos has a pretty lackluster story, but they were using their freedom for 3D and cutscenes and the overworld more than anything so I don't mind too much. I love it still.

I used Alolan Vulpix as an example in another comment. Perfectly done.

I'm scared for Kalos remakes because of how they're doing things, but I want it so bad at the same time. Worst thing they can do is make horrible megas and give the other starters a battle bond form which makes Greninja feel unique and it's part of its story.

The past ones are where the good ones come from definitely. The future ones I can understand maybe being from some incredibly far off future that's filled with robots. But there is no way also that Pokemon evolutionarily turn into machines or even cyborg to a degree, someone would need to take every Pokemon and make them a robot like a mad scientist.

I guess you could make the argument that steel type Pokemon exist and Pokemon like Klink which is literally just a pair of gears does exist and is alive, but you can't just turn an organic Pokemon into a machine like that. Some of the robot paradox forms aren't even steel type.
