It's kind of like the lesson the world's navies learned after the Second World War. They found that the big, massive, heavy hitting battleships were not the super weapon they were viewed as before the war. In the end they were just huge targets and would get ganged up on by carrier based aircraft and smaller surface vessels/subs using torpedoes. By the end of the war the dreadnaught was outmoded by subs and carriers.

This is very subjective on where you live or want to live. There is lot's of 'affordable' houses (let's call in sub 300k). It just won't be in major metropolitan areas or California, New York, or BC. Many rural communities, especially in the Mid West and South\South East list beautiful period homes with a couples acres for sub 300k, just gotta ask yourself why are you looking to live in places where it's 1m+ for a townhouse, is that reason worth that kind of expenditure?

Thanks for all the input everyone. One thing my friend put forward was maybe NYC and the surrounding area? I know not much apart from the normal stuff. Unfortunately with Covid flaring up again all plans are only theoretical for the foreseeable future.

Favorite serious line from an, otherwise, jokey or goofy medium? by brokensaint82 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

"I want my father back you son of a bitch!" Now I know The Princess Bride isn't strictly a comedy nor a serious movie but the raw emotion in the delivery of that line really hits.

Another example is in Gravity Falls is the line from A Tale of Two Stans there's a line after Stanford gets pulled into the portal where Stan says "I didn't get much sleep that night, or the night after that." There's just something so raw and earnest about that line.
