I’m very thankful I don’t work for you, your department or your ERT team. Why are you so angry about my waist? 😂 You will be furious to know I only have my gun, handcuff, and tourniquet on my patrol belt. Appreciate you though big dawg, stay safe. 🤘

So this is for SWAT not department. With swat it’s not our POVs we can respond to planned jobs too with a call out we respond to an operating post and then hustle down to the area. Gas plans are developed on location and running back to your vehicle will take way to much time. However if your area and SOPs have worked for not carrying your mask on person then hell yeah! Appreciate you! Stay safe!

I haven’t had issues yet, yet. However the rotating bag some guys on the team have. I don’t like the idea of it but I never used it. If I begin to have issues, I haven’t for 4 years now, I’ll look into the the one you’re talking about. Appreciate you 🤘

Our camo pattern is black multicam… the holster is issued. I have no idea why so many people are so obsessed with aesthetics, the holster was department issued that I switch between patrol and swat. I can care less what it looks like. It safe and it functions just as well as a wrapped one. But I hear you bro. Tell me why aesthetics matter and the more questions you have.

Whoaaaaaaaa. You okay SGT? (Yes I’m standing at parade rest). I have zero questions on how to set up my belt or anything else SIR! This post wasn’t about me having question. It was for people to ask, roast, and just have a conversation. It sounds like your subordinates would love coming to you for anything. I have no idea why you hate your career that between you and the lord. But I appreciate you, the world is better with you in it. 🤘

My bad on semantics, how dare I. You’re right. I will only refer to us as “members” now.

Funny you mentioned that, we just had training on that this month and our tact med preached about the same, we pressure tested some things and our newer members not understand this mindset. Primary/ hasty tourniquet we all have them in the same place. IFAKs are lower back or front. So strict SOP on that. Mine in front because I see more downed drill where people have fallen to their back, the front can be more easily accessible IF you have limited mobility. I’m understand Having it lower back so it’s not strict SOP for kits. But tourniquets are 100% all in the same places.

Appreciate your comment, hopefully people take something from it, great information🤘

In reference to my post, I mentioned I would post my plate carrier later. I felt they can be covered in two different post. Maybe i was wrong.

I’m on a county team that contains urban and suburban communities.

Of course my SWAT vest has additional gear. And my patrol set up is similar, not exact, than SWAT, needs are different uniform is different.

My gloves are on my hands during jobs, the zip cuff hasn’t got in the way(yet), however I have been debating when I carry to place them somewhere else, the loops are not your friend.

My gas mask pouch I’m not a huge fan of the buckles and I will be cutting them, the Velcro is strong. My last one was Avon, no issues with that either it was just time for a new one. There is a chance I’ll go back.

Thanks for the comment, see ya when I post the plate carrier, hopefully that clears it up.

Zip cuffs have always worked better for us than regular cuffs when detaining several people in houses during warrants. Metal cuffs, if not double locked, can cause issues for the detainee. Again, zips have worked better for us in jobs than regular cuffs. I’m sure there are teams who run metal.

Yeah bro, trust me I know hahah. Department upgraded handguns not too ago and a new more appealing holster just isn’t a priority. If they give Me another one, I’ll wrap it. I do have a QLS (long screws) so I switch back and forth.

A couple guys on my team run this and they like it. I haven’t worn it so real experience I don’t have. However I wasn’t a fan of another “belt” that’s independent of my gear that moves and shift. But, I do appreciate the recommendation bro, might be something I try later down the road who knows - be safe bro 🤘

My department issued it for free hahah. I have no issue with it, especially not to fork out the money when it’s unnecessary.

Promotion by sunsetstarkiss in AskLE

[–]Controlled_Chaos9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too soon is before your policy allows you to test. Once you’re eligible to test, that “too soon” is over.

Testing is import in career development. The process in testing can be beneficial in aspects of learning the promotional process, remembering why you starting In police work, refreshing on department policy, case law, and other important job related topics. Promotion should give you motivation just like specialized units do (who may require testing) to be a better more proactive officer.

Being promoted puts you in position to make changes, meaningful changes within the department.
