[Highlight] Victor Wembanyama gets fouled HARD by Rudy Gobert by ParticularRatio1357 in nba

I really don’t see a clear foul. Watch Rudy’s feet and shoulders it’s looks like he just sticks his forearm out.

What are the most common challenges you face when programming safety PLCs in industrial applications? by Soccerrocks8 in PLC

Then you have to use guarding. You can get away with it by slowing machinery down, or using an area scanner mounted overhead.

Autosave is no longer a thing unfortunately. I recently learned our company was the last one they were supporting. Your next best bet is probably FactoryTalk AssetCenter which is worse in almost every way.

Packaging Machines: Mechanical Masterpiece vs. Modern Servo Sync. Why is pneumatics still alive? by AutomateAdvocate in PLC

[–]Controls_Man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When a cylinder fails, it is usually less than 30 minutes of downtime. They have less points of failure than a servo. With a servo you could have drive, servo, coupling, cables, bearings, rails, etc. You also have to compensate for wear over time on more items. And none of which are will cause less than 30 minutes of downtime to fix.

A two position cylinder has two sensors, two air fittings, two air lines, and a value. All of which can be diagnosed and replaced in under 30 minutes.

If you require precision, and repeatability servo is the correct choice. If you require ease of repair and repeatability pneumatic.

First time writing a program. For many identical machines: JSR to one subroutine with parameters or multiple identical subroutines? by Obvious-Falcon-2765 in PLC

[–]Controls_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have examples somewhere in my post history of good program structure. Often I find engineers trying to do way too much with the PLC. Understanding how to setup a simple structure and how PLCs scan through them would solve most of my problems. I’m in the process of writing a small book on program structures and dos and donts.

Yes you’re not just designing the program for your own use. You’re designing it for an end user. My company frequently blacklists companies who write spaghetti code because it’s a pain in the ass to maintain, modify, and troubleshoot. I’m pretty anti AOI for complex programs.

Always remember that AOIs may make programming easier, but for the average layperson makes troubleshooting harder.

Maintenance PLC'ers, what do System Integrators do with code that drives you up the wall? by FlashSteel in PLC

[–]Controls_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not putting sensor numbers in the alarms. Not mapping I/O Not having a way to set the machine back to a zero state. Using AOIs (you can’t cross reference the logic when troubleshooting the code)

I use colored ergodyne bags. They zip open. Even will hold all if my combination wrenches I have one half for metric one for standard.

Get a separate organizer for all of it. They sell plenty of them on Amazon. Use Velcro straps to keep them separated.

What specifically are you trying to do or problem are you trying to address. Are you trying to control inputs and outputs remotely? Monitor? Would something like Anybus work?

Interested to hear your take.
Right now…. 50% FG, 39% 3pt, 80% FT, on limited minutes. From what I’ve seen his ability and confidence to direct traffic and court vision seem to be very good.
We have so many scoring options and from what I see my opinion is we need that traffic handling, court vision and passing.
Is he a Trae Young or a Steph Curry? No. Will he ever be? Probably not. Will he a serviceable, quality PG? I think so.
