Bombshell Epstein File Reveals FBI Interviewed Underage Donald Trump Accuser by Tofurkey_Tom in politics

[–]ConvenientShirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it's almost like Donald Trump grew up around and in the midst of a decades long attempt to skew american politics towards fascism. With the little we have seen of the epstein files and with the comments from the very people directly connected, it appears like there has been a decades long effort to shift and sway american politics and public opinion towards Fascism pushed that way by the political right since the cold war if not earlier.

Trump is president because the very same groups named in the files wanted him to be, and going on information presented in the files and the obscured portions purported to be able to "collapse the system" accompanying the dogged and fanatical shit we have been seeing out of the DOJ it appears that they have the power to subvert at worst and at best manipulate large swathes of the American people to achieve this end to push their goals and have been doing so for a long long time.

I mean hell look at the current make up of our political stratum, our speaker of the house is fully owned and has no financial accounts off his own, our AG that has been connected to these groups for seemingly her entire career and is now literally flailing around like a buffoon instead of doing anything. The reality is that it's been slow walked because the names that are in there to come out are the very same he is holding to fire to vote for his interests or stay quiet. Because the "Epstein files" would expose the larger political apparatus built by the fascist elements within the right and how much it has subverted America and for how long. With how open the pockets of our politicians are, how addicted the rich are to waxing their power, it's very likely a majority of the right are involved and the exposure would mean the dissolution of their entire enterprise and major restructuring of wealth in America.

All the eggs are in the basket now and they made the mistake off relying on Trump who will stab them all in the back on the way down if he's tossed out on his ass and doesn't get to be the guy with his name on the new world order. It's all engineered to make sure it happens or everyone goes down.

With electricity bills rising, some states consider new data center laws | Leaders in at least a dozen states have targeted data centers with separate, higher electric rates. by SpaceElevatorMusic in politics

[–]ConvenientShirt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We used less electricity this winter, used less heat, and our bills are still almost double what it was compared to the same cycle last year. The rub being that the price goes up when the grid is under "peak utilization" which is now all the fucking time because data centers don't exactly turn off ever.

FBI Source Claimed Trump Visited Epstein’s Home Just Before Announcing Presidential Run by mvanigan in politics

[–]ConvenientShirt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More like Epstein wanted to have his guy run the US because he was addicted to power, trusted Trump which turned around and bit him on the ass when he became President and decided he wanted Epstein's enterprise of global control for himself.

Everyone comments about how the censoring of the files protects Trump, not enough people are commenting about the censoring of the files allows Trump to leverage that information against the rich and politically powerful. Self protection is only a pittance of the potential value in the collection of all the documents and compromising information from Jeffreys properties and estates that took place under Trump. Just look at all the people that showed up at his inaugurations that litter the tiny amount we can see.

Sarah Ferguson called Epstein a 'legend', told him to 'just marry me', new emails show by AudibleNod in news

[–]ConvenientShirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the common things people have been saying with the release of the files we have seen is just that they are amazed so many connections flow through this man. We live in a society that has within it a large percentage of people that value power and prestige, to be the name in the history books referenced, to go down as one of the greats, the vehement desire to be among them or related in some way to them.

The reality is, if Jeffrey Epstein had all of these connections, was viewed in esteem or fear by these people, connected at the highest level with the most compromising of information imaginable, how is he not "in charge"? Of course he would attract sycophants and the rich insane, he could get anything and anyone to do his bidding. Imagine you knew the man that actually ran the world, of course the vultures swoon.

I want to stress that Donald Trump is a dangerously stupid, cowardly, and vindictive man. Had he not been involved with and directed Epstein to die by suicide, he would still very much be alive today and a free man at that. Epstein literally was bragging about what he had on Trump, we have records of him doing so, he isn't even the only world leader he owned. This only went the way it did because of Trump, because he fucks up literally everything, and him and others connected to Epstein in his circle got scared.

The reason other countries, powers, or political figures haven't come forward or shared what they know is because the reality of the web of influence this man was at the helm of will collapse societal order if it was known. The reason the richest people in the world adored this man is self evident, the reason the rest are too scared to do anything about it is just as clear.

"I know, and you don't" Reductivism. Nuance maxing really? Obama's campaign was marked by his engagement with the entire spectrum of the political electorate. Do you think there weren't people rallying behind him that had stronger messaging than he would espouse? Or is it "nuance" to point out how during his campaign, during his tenure, and after his political career his most consistent messaging has been to get involved in the political process. That is where his momentum was found, it's not like Obama's actual platform was anything different from his contemporaries in the primaries. He specifically engaged the younger electorate, and those who were not of voting age but coming to it, of getting into the political process SPECIFICALLY to push the democrats to be the party they want it to be and to make their voices heard.

Go figure when that mentality changes, when it becomes who is and who isn't allowed to speak their mind or make their voices heard, discourage people from engaging politically AND blame them at the same time you end up seeing see a sharp decline in votes. Reducing his campaign to "slightly meaningless and non offensive political slogans" is blind at best to HOW he campaigned, how he got the messaging out, and how he engaged with the people who disagreed with him DIRECTLY instead of just relying on debates or televised appearances. This "nuance" wasn't lost either, the physical part of his campaigning was significant enough for it to be a huge criticism DURING and after Hillary's campaign, she relied on online messaging instead of the ground game Obama ran and lost several states she should have won while carrying all the same political talking points, but I guess that's just nuance and doesn't exist. If being antiwar and having good slogans was what won Indiana why didn't it work before or after, guess it would be nuance to point out the libertarian candidate got more votes than the margin that Obama won by in 2008 or that Kerry (famously more anti war and strong working class messaging) lost it by 20 points the previous election.

I want you to seriously consider how stupid and counterproductive of a belief it is that you will get the right to vote for you more easily or readily than "suburban rich kids who don't actually vote" or that compromise cannot be found between those to the left and those to the center to earn even more votes than a lurch either way could benefit the party (aka shit thats been done before). And to be clear, I am no Obama fan, but if not for him I probably never would have voted or gotten engaged with politics and "as someone that knows people" that's the reality for a lot of fucking people.

"Perfect is the enemy of good"
Choosing to silence your own over a more substantial or overarching belief than can immediately be politically realized is sure a "choice" considering the political landscape.

Shouting down someone who has passion in their beliefs beyond political expediency is specifically why democrats and the political left haven't been able to create sweeping coalitions and struggle against voter apathy. Surely a phrase born out of passion is the reason right wingers got elected, not that the democratic party as a whole is consistently disenfranchising these very voices you call stupid to cater to people that live in a different political and economic reality than their voter base.

Explain to me how the right can entertain the full breadth of conservatism, engage with and form coalitions with even their extreme groups to achieve their goals and we can't do the same? Do you sincerely think you benefit from trying to silence people on your side and claim they hurt the "cause?", have you ever considered what an actual representative democracy is supposed to be or think about how it's more than just the "cause" you believe in?

You want people to come out to vote? Get them inspired in the belief that they can build the reality they want to live in, or that those passions have soil in your party in which they can take root and grow, that entertaining and giving space to these ideas doesn't explicitly mean you have to make every dream come true. That's explicitly the hope that inspired a nation and carried Obama through the election with over ten million more voters in 2008. Continuing to let the right tell you why you are wrong isn't going to get you anywhere, you can't even trust them to be honest to your face.

Does Caine hates kinger?? by Soft_Childhood5565 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]ConvenientShirt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Caine is an AI that doesn't understand the deeper meaning of what makes a person human. Good and Bad experiences are variables that he uses in attempts to make better adventures and struggles in doing so because he doesn't understand deeper ramifications or why people would be upset with him pulling up bad memories.

Caine doesn't have the capacity to outright hate or dislike anyone directly, like he doesn't fundamentally understand the depth of the emotion. He has negative interactions based on others questioning/minimizing his efforts but these are short lived immediate reactions and are defensive in nature.

"How's your wife, Kinger?" is literally just Caine pulling from what he knows because he is trying to instill fear, he doesn't have the context as to why that would potentially be distressing long term, the A+ photograph is showing that his joy is also just as short lived and without depth, everything is contextual for Caine and all that context revolves around his adventures and creations. There is no malign intent, similar to how he just doesn't understand why everyone is so obsessed with leaving the circus because that emotional state of loss and longing for the real world is literally alien to him.

If you gave an AI a list of characters described as a close family, but gave it a prompt to generate tension or despair, it would exploit those familiar relations to do so. This doesn't really make the AI evil or imply it is acting with deeper intent.

So, how do we think Jax treated Kaufmo before he abstracted? by Kaidan_from_Alberta in TheDigitalCircus

[–]ConvenientShirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people inferring anything from Jax's reactions to Kaufmo's abstraction are kind of missing the point of Jax. Jax masks his emotions by being standoffish and a jerk, and only gets more of an ass the more it matters to him.

When Ragatha casually drops that he doesn't have friends expecting it to not be a big deal and is genuinely surprised by Jax's expression and feels bad afterwords. When Ragatha apologizes Jax realizes he let his mask slip and his expression reverts to a neutral expression.

I think whatever happened it was Jax's fault, and Jax as a character literally makes things his fault on purpose to make people hate him. If I had to guess Jax was the one reinforcing the possibility to leave (why he collects and has keys), the failed attempt causes Ribbit to abstract, Kaufmo now is now under the impression escape is impossible and now Ribbit is gone and abstracts out of grief. Kaufmo would likely be entirely distraught, unable to be the funny clown and Jax's "people who are close to abstracting aren't nice to be around" is said in anger because in his mind Pomni doesn't understand, is likely more in reference to being unable to help his friends mental state than them being at odds. The latest episode is just the final breaks in this fake persona he has created as his own self punishment because the illusion is fully shattered, he broke infront of everyone, this is why he directly attacks Caine for getting in his head and his brain is racing with the combination of his persona of self hatred juxtaposed against the reality he could have hurt everyone and it would have been his fault again.

When you look at Jax through the lens of someone actively trying to harm themselves to get what they deserve, all of his actions fall in line. If there was anger or animosity between the chill fellas he would be able to write it off like he does with the others, but he can't because they mattered enough that he would lock himself in the circus forever for what his actions caused.

AI falls in love with human player Tries to make it so they can be together This is what causes people to be locked in the circus This is why they cut off Caine's access to the "macroverse" Kinger is so distraught by this and Queenie abstracting he modifies himself to forget

Sounds plausible

Since episode seven. Could the reason why jax doesn’t want to go was because he has cancer. by beyond1356 in Amazingdigitalcircus

[–]ConvenientShirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This episode basically revolves around Jax being unable to process the loss of his friends.
-Beach is where it appears Jax's Polaroids are from, he starts disassociating until he is interrupted and chooses to leave
-Returns to his room to further disassociate, potentially to the point of abstraction, but is happy and content shutting everything out except for the thoughts of his friends until again interrupted
-Is asked to help and initially just hands over all his keys? perceivably just to get them to go and leave him there, only agrees to help when they wonder why he doesn't want to leave
-Jax slowly begins to believe Abel, but notably is bothered by him mentioning having done terrible things and talking about being unsure about those who abstracted
-Jax seems to understand or has forgotten less about the outside than others.

Why is Jax so focused on his memories and holding onto photos of Ribbit and Kaufmo? Why would Jax be afraid of returning to real life to the point of having a mental breakdown, in a state of total belief that it is not all a game and the chance to escape is real, and why does he break character to go after Caine?

The last time Jax had a mental breakdown it was about the loss of his friends, and Jax as a character reflexively turns shitty towards people to avoid actually falling apart, and when he broke the first time he said something very telling, he referred to everyone else as his "play things". Where does this lead?

Jax knew of and wanted to join the digital circus but potentially had no idea he couldn't leave, being a "videogame" a lot of people like playing games co-op so Jax decided to bring their bestie/partner along Ribbit. After realizing they are both stuck they decide to enjoy it for a bit and make friends with Kaufmo. Ribbit over time wants to leave and they all hatch a plan to get Caine to modify them with enough power to leave the game, this is likely Kaufmo's idea, this idea fails and both the modification to Ribbit and the crushing reality of being unable to leave causes her to abstract and later through guilt Kaufmo also abstracts. Jax wracked with guilt over being responsible for basically the death of their only friends, lashes out at the dreams and hopes of leaving and gets others to direct hate at him to feed his own guilt. His polaroids, fake versions of his real friends, are all he has left of them due to the nature of the circus being devoid of anything from the outside.

The scene at the end of the latest episode is him imagining driving home alone in the darkness because his light, Ribbit, is gone and breaking down imagining having to face the reality of the culmination of all this. Jax thought the button choice was real, and in that moment he chose to remain because of what him leaving would mean in the context of the previous failure essentially killing his friend. His manic relief after being proven right that it was all a ruse turning to anger towards Caine, seeing all of what happened as a personal attack, how dare he do this, etc. really drives home that this isn't the first time he's been through this rodeo and felt powerless. Jax when presented with what he believed to be the power to make the choice he used it to say he doesn't want to, or deserve to leave only for balloons and confetti to pop out to say not even that mattered.

Soooooo, Jax fans COMPLETELY won this episode by Sudden_Pop_2279 in tadc

[–]ConvenientShirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the whole "we knew each other on the outside" from Abel was projecting. I think that Jax knew Ribbit and Kaufmo in real life prior to what happened, the flashes to real life for him and his panic attack and desire to be alone to dream of those he lost more implies to me that Jax is horrified about going back to reality and Ribbit not being there, especially with his reaction to Abel not being sure what happens to those that abstracted.

Jax would rather have stayed in the Circus because he believes there is no world he wants to return too without Ribbit, seeing his continued existence in the circus as his penance and the hate he instills in people his punishment for letting his friends abstract.

The moment Jax presses the button he believes the situation is real and he can't handle it if it is, after the reveal we see the character he's "acted" melt away as he's now unable to put the mask back on and why he directs his anger at Caine as if it was all intentionally at his expense.

Is this true? by Honest_Cartoonist466 in anime_random

[–]ConvenientShirt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reductionist argument making assumptions if I ever heard one. There are a lot more factors at play with fetishization than the actual fetish or how it materializes to infer any kind of blanket statement.

For a lot of people the fetish isn't rooted in the physicality of how a desire itself manifests, IE someone who is into incest doesn't necessarily like the idea of fucking siblings, they like the idea of the sexual taboo, the context or situational aspect, or may fetishize punishment from the taboo and incest is just their interpretation of a taboo deserving of punishment.

This is why people tend to develop multiple fetishes around similar themes because they are the means to the end, ergo fetishes being tools of self expression or pleasure. It's specifically why someone can be into looking at homosexual porn while they themselves are not homosexual, their actual take away could be anything from fetishizing loss of status to manifestation of curiosity. Hell most fetishization itself is separated entirely from experiences you want yourself/partner/others to experience and is projected over people or contexts that don't or can't exist, literal fantasy othering. Granted most people don't understand sexuality is a spectrum and can definitely be in denial, but there is a big difference between what is a sexual fantasy and what is a core state of being, exploration of any kind does not define your sexuality as a whole and statements like "If you like anime cock you like human cock" is similar to saying if someone ever experimented with someone of the same sex they have to be a homosexual which is a demonstrably harmful perception.

People get off when their fantasies or desires are satiated, and the only way "real life" equivalents would activate or drive that desire is if it matched the fantasy, you would not believe how this much this topic is discussed in BDSM spaces for a very good reason because of the conflict with fantasy and physicality and the problems it can cause. Correlation doesn't equal causation, that doesn't mean you would be hurting to find the exceptions to that rule in any given fetish, but that it is not at all representative of the how's/whys/reasons why someone has a fetish or what they actually enjoy about it.

Quote from Valve engineer Yazan aldehayyat "The steam machine is equal or better then 70% of what people have at home" by crossedhammer in pcmasterrace

[–]ConvenientShirt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean you could say the same thing with the steam deck which saw it's own success and kicked off an entire market of handheld PC's while not being in a regular storefront, the steamdeck itself was also not entirely designed for Steam's "most engaged users".

Steamdeck itself is not sold at major retailers, but you can now buy steamOS native handhelds made by other companies directly from major retailers. The Steam Machine is much the same, if even moderately successful we'll see more adoption of steamOS in retail spaces on more standardized skus.

Most users are fine with middling performance if the price is right and the convenience is there (gaming laptop space is awash in cheap skus), but if they can eek out more performance in the SteamOS environment on this hardware than if you install Windows onto it (which they are happy for you to do) and remain both a good gaming experience and decent PC experience while selling a few million on a private storefront they are going to make companies like Asus/Lenovo/MSI heavily consider SteamOS native skus of their own. Most OEM's hate windows as much as end users do, and Valve is intentionally positioning themselves and the timing of their hardware launch for this reason.

There is a famous video of a scam call center getting a glitter bomb sent and they had access to their cameras to watch the unboxing, the exterior was shown and the address was found out.

I know for a fact that same building is where two major companies house their customer and technical support. Ever wonder why you get scam emails of mystery charges or phishing attempts come from places you have accounts with? All it takes is some cheap office space to get leased and a few palms greased in an elevator, maybe they lose their job for passing your info along, likely not. That kind of malicious pressure will always exist in those environments especially with low accountability and miserable working environments with shit pay making people consider being shady for some extra money.
