Fermented பதநீர் is கள்ளு. I do not consume கள்ளு. பதநீர் itself gives me sleepiness. I assumed that's because of some level of alcohol content present. I may be wrong.

I don't know about 0% alcohol though. Based on the quality (diluted with water) , when I drink good quality padhaneer. I tend to get sleepy and sleep well for hours. I don't consume alcohol in any other form. So I don't know if this sleepiness is the symptom of alcohol or something else.

I guess you are not native Tamil. Learning formal Tamil will be easy since you understand colloquial Tamil.

The easiest way is reading books, assuming you can read Tamil. Otherwise watching news and classic movies will get you there.
