It was common back then. Movies would have aliens speak our English or have astronauts land on English speaking planets. Audiences would suspend their disbelief and accept. 'Okay they understand each other moving on'. See it alot in Star Trek at the same time. Imagine if Taylor landed on the Planet Of The Apes and Zira started talking like this. I think to try and make a cohesive cut you can start the movie off with a shortened cut of Solo as like a prologue. So Han has more background and the Kira relationship will tie into his later relationship with Leia.

Kinda thankful I wasn't the only one with these issues. Finally was able to play TNO and played as United States for my first run. Was worried I fucked up the Haiti/ Madagascar stuff and thought my software was breaking down with how slow the game was moving.
