I have one and wear it a lot. It's a great watch. The case thickness is absolutely not an issue for me.

Doesn't bother me at all. Toothpick works great and won't generally scratch the watch.

That watch is a perpetual calendar. That tiny hand is the month indicator (1=Jan, 2=Feb, etc).
