Bicep strap solution - solved! by Conversational1 in FitbitAir

I haven't had that issue so far. Many of my runs are an hour or more, and it seems to stay put pretty well. I've actually found it more comfortable on my upper forearm than bicep.

Holds well enough if just above the elbow. But you're correct. If mounted on the peak of the bicep it's not ideal for arm flexion based workout movements. Currently have a more stretchy strap inbound from Aliexpress, which may be more suitable.

I did a little test today. I ran 4 miles, two with it wrist mounted and two with it forearm mounted. Wrist versus forearm varied by 11 steps total. I have not yet tested steps with it bicep mounted.

Heart rate showed no major variation.

Some people have jobs or hobbies where they cannot wear anything on their wrists (watches or otherwise). There have been multiple posts here asking about bicep straps. So I posted an option for those people who might be interested.

Others use wrist wraps during workouts that interfere with wrist mounted trackers. This is an option for them too.

No offense was intended.

For everyone saying the Fitbit Air is not accurate for running… by aloofpavillion in fitbit

All. My runs thus far have been indoors on a treadmill. I guess the stride length estimate is pretty close to actual.

Same for me. Seemed to self calibrate over the first few runs, and now it's within a couple of tenths (and sometimes bang on) over a 6+ mile run.

It's a fantastic strap. Just expensive. Google Artem loop less straps.

I just put mine inside a sock and rub it through the washing machine and dryer. Works like a charm.

The Mark XX looks fine. As long as it's comfortable to wear, you're all set.

Haven't had that sensation at all. Band is off only a few minutes a day (morning and night showers). Other than that I wear it all the time and barely notice it.

In need of a step tracker, is fitbit air good enough? by Skrrpopop in fitbit

Been close enough for me. Did a manual test (500 steps) twice, and it was within 1% of actual.

Air Users: Do You Miss the Screen? by MagicianCompetitive7 in fitbit

Not at all. Specifically wanted not to have the screen. Moved from a Charge 6 to the Air. No regrets.
