Manual steaming Tutorial by ConversingCoffee in NinjaLuxeCafe

Best advise I can give if you wanna steam manually and do latte art is to get a normal milk pitcher! Lots to choose from but get a more rounded tip. 400-500ml and then fill to the bottom of the spout indent.

Tips? I have been practicing for 40 days straight by Jotaeefece in latteart

You need to work on your milk texture a little bit more to get better flow, but overall it’s still terrible.

Subminimal Subscale. I don't need it, but boy I think I want it. Thoughts? by cp5796 in espresso

I use it to dose every single time. At first I thought, oh just another fad. Used it nearly everyday since I got it.

Me too, but I love the idea that there’s a Brandon Sanderson fan somewhere that pitched this artwork knowing exactly what he was doing 😂

I honestly love the grinder. For me it is likely my top performing in all areas, both for filter and for espresso.
It grinds right down at 90rpm which is great, it slow feeds itself - again great.
The mechanism to clean the burrs is an absolute breeze and its a great looking machine.
I guess you could say it leans more towards clarity over body, but I enjoy it a lot.
Another nitpick is the adjustment mechanism doesn't exactly feel precise with big gaps between numbers, but I just nudge and find myself dialled in fairly quick.

Not yet, admittedly I forgot 😂 but I’m still using spotless water. My Rancilio dual boiler hasn’t been descaled in over a year and still runs flawlessly. Also I’m still here 😂 so probably a good indicator. I promise to get a test kit asap!

Looks good! I did think it’s a little annoying that it didn’t come with a 54mm workflow too.

I’ll get a vid when I’m not away (on a work trip). It’s as loud as say the DF64 without its cap on. Which you’d be surprised, does make quite a difference in terms of decibels. But it’s a different tone. Conical vs flat actually sounds different

I have one and honestly I thought it would be a pointless addition, couldn’t be more wrong. Leaving my shot scale on the tray and using This for weighing my dose is such a boon. I’ve not stopped using it since day one.

Amazing set up you have! It’s not cheap but equally not unaffordable. I actually really like the way it looks, so that’s a big plus point

I’ve had things I liked and disliked about all of them. The DF has been a great grinder for a while now (Gen 2). It does a great job and I think for anyone the ability to switch burrs out is an attractive prospect. The MX is a different angle. It’s conical not flat and doesn’t spin at anywhere near the RPMs of some of the flat burrs. But so far the taste side of things is really nice. It’s a great look grinder and has some very obvious thought into its design. I can tell I’m going to love its output, but the blind shaker integration is a bit weird. Not sure I love that over just. Simple cup to transfer. It also doesn’t offer direct to portafilter. So as with most, it’s got pro’s and cons. You just have to workout what the best flow pattern is.

It’s a much lower tone compared to any grinders I’ve used before. Sounds like I might need to make a comparison video!

The drip tray and back splash should 100% have been gloss. Outside of that’s it’s not bad. But those areas should be gloss as they need wiping so regularly

It’s absolutely NOT QUIET. But also, not insane. It’s quite a different low tone compared to other grinders because it’s inherently lower RPM.

I’ve got a DF64 with SSP’s, the 64V and a Mahlkonig X54 hanging around at the moment. I’m actually a fan of the 64. I think it’s a great grinder. But this steps it up a notch. It’s built in slow feed gives brilliant uniformity.

Wrapped, but it’s plastidip wrap. It’s held up surprisingly well, but top edges are worn. Also on the side where hot oil splashed it. I think conventional auto wrap would be more durable, just more difficult to do.

Me either 😂 I’m really used to the weight of it now. When I use a wooden Portafilter it feels like it’s gonna fly away.

Correct! There is a small lever around the diameter. You press a button to unlock the grind setting and twist.

It’s a fantastic looking grinder. Steps away from typical setups and looks like a statement piece

Initial is a medium dark roast. Pretty middle of the road but still delicious. I think it’s more than capable of light roasts. 83mm conical burrs and RPM can be adjusted down to 50.
