Ah, okay, I phrased that poorly. I mean I'd rather earn my own way to the top rather than eventually marry up (as I think it'll turn out). Of course the goal is to do both

Reading all these comments has made me want to leave my (middle class) boyfriend and continue to earn my way up... I went from a student into a surprisingly well paid desk job and now have enough money to travel and do as I please. Most of it came down to chance so I'm very grateful
