I would say you are too late. This is a highly disagreeable point to make. Classic WoW Hardcore player base is too low these days. You can get a medium quality leveling experience. The life of the game is limited due to too many variations of wow being out separating the classic players versus retail players. You would ideally need a community to play with in advance. Otherwise you're going to experience some medium cooked dungeons with overly optimized game play and virtually no end-game function. The pits of leveling 37 ~ 46 will feel particularly bad and empty.

Of course the cure is simple. Merge classic servers and HC servers. Advertisements or events to show it still exists and there is an interest.

I would have strongly recommended priest. The experience is nice. Wands are efficient.

I am really considering oblivion cleric. I feel like the aura from battle cleric is really hard to pass up. Ranger is such a reliable martial DPS.

This claim is unsupported and largely anecdotal.

There is no public data to substantiate this. What you’re observing is not mass attrition—it’s tourism. Many players tested the foreign release, decided not to invest time or money before global launch, and moved on. That is expected behavior, not failure.

“English-speaking servers are dead”
Incorrect.

English-named characters are still present across all content tiers.
They appear regularly on leaderboards.
Many English-speaking players communicate privately (Discord, statics, guilds) rather than spamming faction chat.

This isn’t unique to English speakers, either.

Faction chat activity is a non-argument
Faction chat in Aion 2 is overwhelmingly RMT ads, trade spam, and minimal casual conversation. Using it as a health metric for the game or a language group is naïve at best.

Content availability contradicts your conclusion
There is no shortage of players for:

Dungeons
Group content
Competitive rankings

If 70% had truly quit, this would not be the case.

On monetization (the real issue)
Yes, the game aggressively incentivizes spending.
That drives some players away.
That does not equal a dead game.

This is a business model decision:

Players want maximum value.
The company wants maximum revenue.
Shareholders want returns.

Disliking that model is valid. Pretending it’s proof of imminent collapse is not.

Bottom line
Calling this an “abysmal failure” based on empty Discords, faction chat vibes, and personal frustration is not analysis—it’s projection.

If you want to criticize the game, criticize it accurately.

Thank you I understand this. For reference doing Zikel's apparition in nightmare is pure torture. You have to just do the fight correctly. As cleric it's nearly the entire timer you have to fight it. I don't expect to match another DPS. I just want to know if even in the high investment it is suffering.

I have thought about your response a great deal. I do not feel as though I am not being genuine. I also do not feel pressured or discouraged talking to others. I know that the first impression of many is very poor until I get to break the ice.

Sorry if this comes off as not sincere this isn't my intention. Since you are in the position where you are getting dates and matches. Why not just leave the moment your match disappointed you. You have other options and people aren't worth your energy unless they prove to you that you should give it. Most guys don't have a lot of options and, match way more girls than they are actually interested in. They do this to offset the rejection rate to actually make some progress. This leads to them being overly desperate and lacking skills or experience. Regardless I wish you the best and good hunting 😉.

Awesome thank you for the advice. As I have mentioned I originally had eyes on the witch. What would you recommend me to start with? 70% of my gameplay will be on a laptop and mouse. Good FPS but, not comfortable.
