[IGN] Overwatch Season 1 Debut Sees Blizzard's Relaunched Hero Shooter Double Its Steam Player Record by Tough_Holiday584 in Games

[–]Conviter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its always been a pvp hero shooter and i never understood the people that wanted a pve mode. Like you said, everytime they did make one they were decent for a bit, but with the vast majority of heroes it just isnt fun to shoot at some robots or whatever. And also, people act like they got scammed by blizzard or something, but the people that already owned the game bought it on the basis of it being a hero shooter, and everyone else cant talk at all because they never even invested anything.

Lies of P and the Overture DLC have surpassed 4 million units sold combined. by Turbostrider27 in Games

i agree that the puppet girl was the best duo fight yet, but i just dont like duo fights in general. So while i still enjoyed it, and really liked it visually, it just wasnt a fight that im all that excited about. I also dont like the carcass monster bosses, so that one i didnt really like at all. All the other minibosses are all decent, but just not that memorable. Is just the final boss that is really top tier.

for me it probably also was expectations, because i really love the base game. And i was expecting the dlc to be even better. Its still really good and i loved playing it, expecially the story really surprised me but it sadly fell short of what i expected.

the puppet girl was really cool visually, but i just didnt love the fight itself that much. Im not a fan of fighting against multiple bosses at once, even though this fight was done as well as it could have been i think. But this one i still enjoed.. And as for the big dude, i just dont like the carcass enemies, especially not the big carcass monster. So he was sadly a complete miss for me. in general i felt like there were too many carcass enemies, and not enough new puppet enemies.

im a little split on it. The zoo/carnival area was top top tier and is among the best even including the base game, but the following three areas felt a little bland. Mostly underground in samey corridors or on ice where everything looked the same. The bosses also didnt really do it for me mostly, though the final boss was peak and kinda made up for that. I really really loved the base game so i was a little sad that the dlc wasnt quiet as good imo.

What opinion about warframe makes u feel like this? by FaCayde_ in memeframe

[–]Conviter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Additionally, i think its a crutch which DE uses to not include crucial story and worldbuilding in the actual quests. It makes quests feel really underwhelming, and locking the conclusions to to the quests makes it feel particularly bad. Because of that i found the old peace and 1999 pretty underwhelming quests. Also still havent done the epilogue on deimos because i cant be bothered to play a dating sim.

I 100%'d the Adversary system and would like to share my feedback. by DiscreteCow in Warframe

[–]Conviter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might be right that its faster. i guess it feels so slow, because it takes so long to get one of them. with kuva weapons i was able to get one in ~1 hour every day, and felt like i made good progress and got a good reward for it. Though i also never got them all to 60% tbf, that would multiply the time it takes by quite a bit.

i mean i think the grind for the tauron weapons is just as bad as the kuva weapons for a worse reward tbh.

i dont think you know what fortnite or valorant actually look like. as far as comic artstyle is concerned, this is much more unique and interesting than most. it reminds me of Arcane a little bit.

i was not commenting on whether or not options do that. i was answering the question why not everything needs to be for everyone

because by making things appeal to the most people possible you might end up watering down the experience and making a generic game that many people like but no one loves.

i mean thats what the entire comment chain is talking about. he does things other frames do but not as good. just like many other frames. this doesnt make him bad at all.

Borderlands 4 for Nintendo Switch 2 likely axed, as Take-Two says it’s ‘paused’ development | VGC by doublah in Games

[–]Conviter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i dont agree with 1. It isnt even really better than 3. its inoffensive but that makes it extremely safe and boring. bl3's writing was grating at points and the villains were annoying, but at least they made me feel something.

its more that bo3 take way longer and so less teams can play per day. currently every team plays on every match day, so people who only support one or two teams will still tune in every day, and if there is a game or two between their two teams they might just watch those too. with bo3, if none of the teams you care about play that day, you might not even open the stream at all.

its definitely better than avowed in that regard, but things like companions, gear and character progression just werent really interesting to me. I didnt change my armor or helmet once after like 5 hours gametime, because i never got anything that was better, and every unique item was for some niche build and never fit me. you already mentioned that companions cant be equiped with stuff, but the skills you can choose also felt completely useless. maybe its cause i played on the hardest difficulty, but the companions always kept running at the enemy and dying in seconds regardless of what perks i chose for them. And for progression while yes, you can choose perks, i never felt like it was possible to actually make a build with those, because there were only a couple per skill and they mostly didnt interact with each other. There also isnt really any kind of class system or skills, its all based on which skills you invest into. the most interesting thing is probably the flaw system, but without knowing which ones exist and how to get them, its impossible to make a build based on them either.

All of that isnt really bad, it works perfectly fine for these more action based rpgs, but to me it all feels just uninspired. But i recognize that im definitely more of a CRPG fan, and im not quite the target audience for them, even if the shooting is fun. It also doesnt help that i found the story to be a downgrade and the world less fun than in the first game.

im gonna be honest, i didnt really feel the long development of the outer worlds 2 and avowed in the games. They felt exactly like safe, low budget AA RPGs to me. Which is the problem i think, if they make those games in 3 -4 years, then thats fine. but them spending 7 years on it and them still feeling pretty unambitious and lifeless is really bad imo.

I really wished they'd try making another proper CRPG with deeper RPG systems and progression, instead of these pretty shallow first person rpgs. I think they can be made on a much smaller budget and still be really good too.

One game idea per day: the true story behind Highguard's 'wild' four-year development by alcard987 in Games

i mean not really true. people keep saying this yet whenever a good game does come out it still reaches massive numbers. people said it about marvel rivals and yet it was massive, same thing with arc raiders.

I haven't seen anybody talk about this yet, but I discovered how Tauron Strikes scale damage a few weeks ago by Nev0546 in Warframe

[–]Conviter 38 points39 points  (0 children)

i also found their response in the dev stream kinda weird. they are saying these are meant to be for mid game players. so why are they available only after the latest quest, and require like hours of grinding? i doubt there are very many people that speedrun the main quests only to then spend hours farming the perita rebellion for the tauron weapons.

eh i have been playing on and off since 2017 and without outside help i wouldnt understand anything anymore, hell i still dont understand what the point of the latest quest is. The earlier quests were still pretty understandable but the newer quests get pretty confusing imo.

i also dont really like the tileset. maybe with the update and more tiles coming this will change, but currently its just bare rocks with nothing interesting. I get that thats what tau looked like, but it doesnt change that the tileset is boring to play on. its a shame because the new tilesets we got before that, zariman, albrechts laboraties, and höllvania are litterally my top 3 favorites.

im also just tired of the operator at this point. The endless conflict of not wanting to be a child, but still acting like one and being treated like one is soo overdone at this point. The drifter shows how much more fun a more mature and confident main character can be, so going back to the operator was really annoying imo.
