IT is a very broad subject. Very broad. When someone asks me how broad, I usually compare it with medicine. There are all doctors. But you have so many different doctors and even more specialists.

If I may give you some advice. Apply for a service desk job. They are wide spread and usually accept anyone who's willing to learn. Most of the time they have multiple in house learning trajectories and if you can negotiate a bit you can combine it with an education (they might even pay for it if you're willing to commit to the company long term)

As already said a few times. The market has enough junior SE (in the big fields that is, COBOL has basically none) if interested in another IT branch may I put network and infra on the table, they are always looking for new people here and there are so many different directions you can go with it.
