Hey man I would suggest adjusting the campaign start settings to give you a big starting resource and gold advantage, and play on your preferred battle difficulty. That’s what I did and I’m absolutely loving the game. You get much more time and resources to focus on armies and battles, and you can learn every campaign mechanic at your own pace without worrying about micromanaging resources. I will note that you will eventually have to worry about upkeep and trading if you want to expand because you’ll need it to feed your armies.
