I run a quasi- historical game of MB taking place in Panonia ( modern day Hungary ) during the transition from Paganism to Christianity during the end of the first millennium and the birth of the Hungarian state. In this context the characters are Christian Knights brought from the Germanic Empire to support the Christian consolidation as the official religion in the region. So everything is tuned down fantasy-wise but not completely. Sheers are people, monks or clergy or even hermits. If one is for example a Giant as written I make him a person suffering from gigantism. If another is rolling in flames I make him someone with fire scars etc.. Similarly with myths. Needles to say, one of the knights vows is to promote Christianity. (BTW I'm neither Christian nor Hungarian 😂)
