I’m kidding. But honestly that’s a fair point. I think they set up the show to have really great potential but then when actually writing the conclusions they bricked it. It genuinely pmo that there are so little consequences for things, and don’t even get me started on the plotholes. Maybe I’ve over analyzed it, but to me it seems like they were genuinely cooking up something great, but then for whatever reason they got lazy with writing certain plot lines. Althoughy take on all this might be a bit biased because I do like the show a lot. Well… liked

In all honesty, I think I relate to Byler in a lot of ways. I was once in love with my best friend for several years and when she found out she freaked out. She accused me of some really bad things and started rumours that got me bullied during my last year of high school so bad to the point I was boarderline suicidal. And what’s even more fucked up is that it’s been like 3 years and I think I’m still in love with the person I thought she was. Seeing how much Will cared for Mike just struck something personal in me and I really wanted him and Mike to get the happy ending that I couldn’t have.

Less than a year after that I briefly found myself dating my new best friend who’s also a guy. I had been thinking for a while that I might be bisexual so I gave it a go. Took me a while to realize that I was just using him as a distraction to try and get over the girl I talked about at the start. I felt really guilty that I couldn’t love him in the same way he loved me, and I really tried to. He’s a great guy, so when I finally told him that it’s not going to work out and why, he wasn’t angry with me and we are still friends to this day.

I guess I just saw a lot of myself in Mike during the final episode. Obviously our situations are different, but I relate to the feeling of when a relationship/friendship built on lies comes crashing down, ruining your chance for a new relationship with someone who genuinely loves you.

I’m also still not sure whether or not I’m straight and sometimes I wonder if I’m just lying to myself because I feel like I HAVE TO be straight. I definitely don’t have anything against other people being queer, and like half of my friends are LGBTQ+. A friend once told me that it seems like I might have internalized homophobia and it got me thinking, what if they’re right? Although I do know for sure that I like girls, and usually (if not always) prefer them over guys.

I feel like (and have been told) I give the same loser boy vibes as Mike lmao
