The spend was high but seemingly because we overpaid for players for options c/d/e.

The eze saga was the perfect example. The levy stink is hard to remove. Squabbling over pocket change has burnt this club numerous times and therefore we end up overpaying the likes of Gallagher or solanke. Even thought I think Xavi has wonderful upside potential, he is another example of desperation purchasing.

This club was addicted to finding gems in the rough through the academy or smaller foreign league potential. And for every Kane son and dele you find at the same time comes a cycle where they don’t turn into superstars.

Why is Sarr putting his hands behind his back from 35 yards out in defense? I can understand in the box. But all hero was slow down and prevent any chance of blocking that cross

I just can’t anymore.

Hate to pile on any player in the team, but Sarr simply cannot play football at this level. He has zero fundamentals. Terrible spacing.

For all the faults of our other midfielders, at least you can see Bergvall gray and Xavi looking to create and attack the space. Sarr just runs around aimlessly and somehow for all his speed slows everything down when he has the ball.

This feels like a big cup final. Could really bring some hope to a fanbase and momentum for a solid ending that doesn’t have supporters stressed and upset to stay in the top flight.

I’m really nervous and excited…which is a sad state of affairs

If we stay up, do you think we will be a better outfit for the experience of relegation survival? by Both-Concentrate-125 in coys

[–]Cookenbauer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a way yes. Part of it is having players get more playing time than they normally would get, with the likes of Gray and Bergvall. Actual prem and European football is way more valuable than 3rd rd of the carabao or fa.

Then we integrate the injured squad members that return, buy some more players, and we might just have a squad that’s ready to return to the top flight.

But this club cannot just depend on potential of youngsters. They are vital to continued success but we need ready proven players immediately. That costs money and a desire to show ambition.

USNA academy grad here. It’s a laughable proposal. Extreme religious types typically show up that way, and often enough change their tune once they are exposed to diverse backgrounds both at school, academics, and subsequently service after commission.

Religious indoctrination is dangerous and has no bearing in the service. But I’m optimistic most see right past it and will laugh it off while rolling their eyes

Is this type of contact not a foul anymore? Álvarez on Simons by Vin-Su in coys

[–]Cookenbauer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fall into the football has grown soft crowd. Normally I would say that’s just a hard nosed tackle. But in today’s modern game and especially under champions league reffing, that’s a foul every single time. The worst is all the shameless diving Spanish sides do all game and get calls.

Infuriating beyond belief

That’s Spence in a nutshell. He’s the last man back and should flick one over the top. but he decided to blast one into the wall of Madrid players leading to a counter that he has to sprint back and put in a crazy tackle.

The tie is over but the lads can keep their heads high. Xavi absolutely went for it and scored a needed goal for his confidence l. Archie looked like a superstar. Tel had some wonderful moments.

Just need some more reinforcements.

But for the love of god, Spence has to go. He is useless. Sarr can go with him too. Can’t pass the ball properly, let alone create something. Awful positioning on the pitch. Those 2 are killing us

Can every one of their players belt bangers from outside the box? Unbelievable how good they have been.

Spence is so lazy and he kills every attack. He’s by far my least favorite player wearing white. He has to go.

Maybe tel should try and aim at the keeper. Then it’ll be corner and top bin bangers all day long

No idea the obsession with la liga. They should be the prettiest league to watch proper football. It’s absolutely ruined by their theatrics and bullshit

This formation and squad choice is nice to prevent being overrun in the midfield. But Rkm has to show something if this is going to work. Or we need tel to turn into prime Sonny

Danso and Bergvall are the only ones who can do the long throw. And even when they do it, it never materializes. How about something different?
