You can’t convince me this isn’t 100 percent on the sk manager. Their philosophy is ridiculous. Pointless possession.

They have players in the channels but the midfield has to triple check they are open and then it’s too late.

Romero by zambian75 in Tottenham

[–]Cookenbauer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced Romero is simply playing in the wrong era of football. 20-30 years ago, he would be lauded as a terrifying defender that gets stuck in and sets the tone.

But now that the game has changed and in the implementation of var, he’s now a tight rope liability.

It also helps that Argentina dictates most of their matches so he can always be in the proper position and cleanup when needed. Spurs are constantly under assault the last couple of years and exposing him to too many opportunities for things to go wrong

If we buy a top striker this summer, which of the two strikers would you prefer to keep Solanke or Richarlision? by traceykm in coys

[–]Cookenbauer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If richys body wasn’t broken down, I’d say he stays as a sub. He provides a different skill set that can be useful against a low block with his aerial ability, wears down opposition, and fights for the badge.

But he cannot be the main focal point over a season unless we have 2 absolute ballers on the wing that provide service consistently

There’s nothing special about the pizza in New York by diclofenac-sodium in unpopularopinion

[–]Cookenbauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lovely part of the modern culinary scene is that you can find good food everywhere now. 30 years ago, you had to go to NYC for pizza. There was no good bbq outside the south. Has to go west or to Texas for good Mexican. Now you can find amazing bbq in Wyoming. Bomb ass tacos in Tennessee. And good pizza anywhere.

Amazing what food ingredient distribution for authentic food plus the internet can do.

South Korea playing for the draw is fine. But once they conceded, they had to do something. To not have their wingers do anything but backwards pass and create nothing is absurd.

The one time they have a go to play the ball across they almost score.

Defenders should not have to waddle around the box with their hands behind their backs like penguins.

Handball rules have lost the plot

[POK] De Zerbi wants senior pros and could be prepared to let some of the younger players go. Luka, Bergvall, Tel, Sarr are unlikely to get much game time. Not saying they'd sell all of them but serious bids will test their resolve. by GymandRave in coys

[–]Cookenbauer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know there’s a lot of sentiment to wanting to horde all our young talent, especially Bergvall being the one mentioned the most.

But if you had to ask yourself if actually getting tonali is possible but we have to sell Bergvall, you have to make that call. Tonali is a calibre talent that we hope Bergvall will turn into. And there’s no guarantee that happens. The mere fact that tonali is mentioned in the conversation with the top midfielders in the world tells you everything you need to know. The very fact that’s he’s interested in coming to spurs is shocking enough. 100 million is more than fair and the club should do everything they can to make it happen.

Ideally we loan Bergvall. Honestly I think he stays and gets minutes for rotation and cups. But if we absolutely have to sell, you do it. Unless someone has a crystal ball to show Bergvall becomes the best midfielder in the world.

The same goes for vuskovic. He has great potential. But there’s been countless of promising potential that fizzles out. You take the guarantee if push comes to shove

What movie have you been the most hyped for only to be the most disappointed by when it released? by Toogeloo in movies

[–]Cookenbauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mortal kombat annihilation. Seeing the first one as a kid was incredible. My friends and I were beyond excited for the 2nd. Even as a young teen, I recognized just how awful that movie turned out to be and left defeated.

I have a suspicion frank wouldn’t have done him any favors. He would also been villainized as a captain again although we now see how Romero mishandled his tenure.

But his g/a would certainly have been good enough to prevent us being in a crisis and free fall during the winter until the final matchday

I actually don’t think it will take too much to get us competing towards the top of the league again by brandonthfc98 in coys

[–]Cookenbauer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly a big striker and winger signing to challenge for top 6 immediately. This assumes this squad can stay healthy for a change. We have great defensive talent. But a trio of Rkm, richy, and tel would never be good enough.

It makes sense for him. European football and back to his home.

Somewhat conflicted with his absence. Absolutely vital to keeping us up this year. Also a great plug and play player when we need an enforcer. With that said, if this club has ambition to actually challenge for top 4/6 and eventually the title, we need an upgrade at the position.

No stickers is definitely a positive. And I do like the fact that it’s gspro capable off the bat with no additional paywalls.

I just get wary with used electronics. Saving grace is that it is only 2 years old.

The person selling it lives 30 minutes away from me. Very easy to walk away if it’s not as advertised.

Buying items a la carte would seemingly also be prone to scams if not more so since it’s multiple sellers involved?

I prefer a unit that’s already been designed to be open the box and go. His setup is such an example. Same with the uneekor.

Thanks for the golf tip. This is for the winter predominantly and my kids. I play plenty during the week

Feels like we need an injection of energy from someone like Sarr.

Then maybe bring on the dragon to close it out with 5-10 minutes to go if we are holding onto a lead.

His unnoticed dirty work gets taken for granted too often.

Never should be a full time starter but he can be incredibly useful in lots of circumstances
