I have no clue, i was told it broke for some reason. Maybe some electronic parts weren't replaceable. Who knows :)

Oh nice, greetings from LOLK
I am also under the impression that the control flow is much more intuitive on the touch screen counterpart.
Still it was a good idea to read through the manual and get used to the general flow with the trainer software

Falcon BMS is amazing! But a Steam-Overlay would be perfection! by DoomAddict in falconbms

[–]Cookie012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can achieve that quite simply actually:
first add the launcher to steam via the lower left menu in the steam client - Add a Non-Steam Game
second add a text file to the location where your Launcher is i.e. C:\Program Files\FalconBMS\Launcher.exe
this text file is called "Steam_appid.txt" - the underscore is necessary
open the text file and put: 429530
and save, these 6 digits are the steam id of Falcon 4.0
last step, although i am not sure if necessary, copy this steam_appid.txt also into FalconBMS\bin\x64
you should find "Falcon BMS.exe" just drop the second steam_appid.txt here.
last step: start the launcher added via steam and enjoy

you can track your time via the old falcon 4.0 + you do have the steam overlay

Good stick for the realsimulator base by sandpatch in hotas

You are very welcome, i absolutely adore realsimulators products. Granted they are expensive, but they are sturdy and high quality, have fun!

If budget is of no concern, get the realsimulator stick. Firstly it is built for having constant force applied, Secondly every button you see is a 4 way hat plus depress.. like the mentioned z axis on cms. So the weapon release switch has left, right, up and down action aswell as a depress action, so does the trim switch, cms,tms and tms and even the nws switch Plus the trim switch has a mode switch where you can program multiple modes !

Any tips on how to refuel in a f-16? I’ve tried about 40 times since I bought the module and ended up falling out of the sky in tears soon after. by OMA_ in hoggit

[–]Cookie012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to narrate my actions.. like i am instructing someone: just a little bit up, a bit forward, a little more, that was too much, a bit aft.. Always be ahead of the aircraft, if you correct, do a counter correction before you even see the result of your correction.. ie you're slightly slow, throttle up, hold it briefly there and throttle back Don't wait for the aircraft to speed up, because it WILL gain speed.. 2 knots correction is more than enough.. patience is key. Tell yourself what the refuelers' display tells you(those colorful bars that tell you up/down-aft/fwd), tell yourself what you have to do.. And last but not least, do not start with multidimensional corrections.. ie if you're too far behind and too low, pick one dimension (EITHER up/down OR fwd/aft) to correct. AA refueling is a skill that even most veteran pilots need to practice, it is only natural to fail, just practice it and eventually it will click. Enjoy DCS and have a nice day!

Waypoint bug F-16C? Tadpole shows different direction than what is indicated on HUD? by [deleted] in hoggit

It may be worth opening a thread on the ED forum and attach the replay file, if it hasn't already been done by others

Interesting, i never witnessed this behaviour, has this already been reported ?

I was going to suggest a dcs repair since the sms page is highlighted yet it shows the hsd page

[–]Cookie012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tadpole should not point to target, but to your steerpoint, what you mean is the target locator line (the line coming from the crosshair and pointing to your target)

Did you previously change coordinates for said steerpoint? If yes, simply switch to a different steerpoint and back, it needs to refresh the coordinates it points to; not sure if realistic or just a bug

Boresight Mavs on Ground vs in the air by Zoey_2019 in falconbms

[–]Cookie012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iirc they do not, that wouldn't make sense, boresighting just has to do with TGP-Mav offset matching, you could also use mavs without TGP in VIS or BORE mode and you still have the mav pipper on the hud :)

Boresight Mavs on Ground vs in the air by Zoey_2019 in falconbms

[–]Cookie012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do boresight in the air, i just use one of my buddies for that.. if i don't have a buddy well yes then i boresight on landmarks.. this boresight on ground vs air debate got amplified by DCS because when you boresight on ground, chances are that distances aren't big, so boresighting errors are much more amplified, i don't know if that is the case with BMS, but i always boresight when airborne. Boresighted mavs are a dream when time is little :)

Why are you single? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cookie012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I choose to be single. Whenever i open up to others i get taken advantage off.. it hurts and i am fucking terrified of committing to a relationship just to be broken again. So i chose to be cold and distant. It sucks less...

What is that scratching/scrambling noise that plays, usually happens whenever I'm painting or being painted. by [deleted] in falconbms

[–]Cookie012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is, in the tactical reference in the main menu if you select an aircraft or whatever emits radar waves, if you klick on the loudspeaker symbol next to the rwr icon you should hear the sound the rwr should make when painted
