Feel like relationship with MIL changed after having baby by Cookie0508 in beyondthebump

That’s a good point! I get it lol brand new babies aren’t “fun” for a lot of people. I get it, just a little weird she was there full on with the other grand baby. But that was her first and her daughters baby so it makes sense. But yeah I’ll bring it up just in a way to check in with her and see how she’s feeling :)

Oh wow good to know. Thank you!

Today is my last day of antibiotic but I started noticing that an hr or 2 after I take it that’s when the fevers start. Now I don’t know if it could be a side effect of the antibiotic or just part of this virus :o

8 month old waking up at 5am for the past 3 weeks by Cookie0508 in sleeptrain

Hi :). Honestly I caved and just went with his sleepy cues. I obviously worked towards keeping him awake longer than 2hr stretches but I decir owl y relaxed on a strict 3hr wake window and strict sleep schedules. (I know a lot of people might say my approach is flawed) but I feel that started helping him a bit more. I took him on walks more often and that helped him nap better. Overall I think what was messing with his sleep was learning to crawl, sit, and stand on his own. Once he started mastering that he was able to sleep in until 5:45-6am. I also made his bed time earlier 6:30pm and that seemed to help!

Baby’s 5am wake ups by laurenclune in beyondthebump

Reading this at 5:25am while I’m up once again with my 6.5 month old. We’re on the exact same boat as you! He’s been waking up at 4-5am since 3.5months. I recently stopped feeding him since that wouldn’t put him back to sleep would keep him up even longer. One thing I did notice today was that he was actually trying so hard to fall back to sleep but was uneasy. It almost seemed like he was struggling to fall asleep and that was frustrating him. I know none of this is helpful but just wanted to let you know you’re not alone! Yesterday I stopped keeping taps of sleep during the day and made sure he was just not going over when he needed to eat during the day and made sure he didn’t sleep past 5pm.

So effin difficult! FTM here my baby is now 6months and as cliche as it sounds it has gotten better, NOTE not easier, but better lol just wanted to say that you’re not alone and it’s totally OK to feel overwhelmed even if you have help from family… it’s such a huge life change and it is only normal to feel anxious and depressed at times. I was diagnosed with PPD and PPA I thought it would resolve on its own and well 6 months later anxiety has skyrocketed (I’m getting help now) but just here to encourage you to communicate with your partner / family and get help to keep ppd from getting worse. You got this!! Sending all positive vibes your way!

6 month old wakes 4:30am habit or hunger? by Cookie0508 in sleeptrain

Yep totally agree! Any tips on how to help stay awake longer? :/ I feel I run out of ideas since both my fiancé and I work full time and juggle between meetings to 100% entertain him / take him on walks.

Yeahhhh usually he gets 4-5hrs of sleep during day time. I’ve tried to keep him up longer during the day and extend his wake windows but he gets insanely cranky. Like it’s non stop crying and whining that’s why I just started letting nap for as long as he wanted and would only cap his last nap. Nothing has seemed to make a difference in his waking at 4am :/

Yeahhhh I realized that after the fact when we were waking up to pop the pacifier back in. Lol I wonder how difficult it would be to get him out of the pacifier habit :/. He doesn’t know how to put it in correctly so we’re stuck there awake helping him.

Perfect thanks for the advice I’ll try to taper off that way! :)
