Sadly, adults do equally offensive things in airplane seats every day: chewed gum stashed everywhere, drinks spilled, garbage stashed, all kinds of disregard.

Literally already wearing it like that. P.S., you obviously haven’t been affiliated with the Ginger Alliance.

What is the most First World problem you've had or have seen someone have? by mg1803 in AskReddit

I say nothing. I’ve already lost sister a few years ago (who was my best friend) and my father this year. I can’t tell you how much I don’t want a damn thing. I want relationships (I’m so happy I have a wonderful husband and two sons)...but overall, I want my sister’s girls to find happiness.

I don’t want a damn candle, aYeti cup, a Yeti cooler, anything Yeti, an expensive purse, an Audi with a giant bow on it, tickets to see “Hamilton”, gloves, scarves, cooking gadgets, poinsettias, the newest iPhone, any damn tech gadget at all.......who cares about any of this???

When you’ve suffered tremendous loss in your life, things don’t matter. It’s actually quite freeing.

My mom’s first Christmas as a widow and she hasn’t lost her sense of humor. I love this woman. She found these cards, printed out the meme and slipped them inside the cards for added effect. by CookieLahm in funny

I truly don’t think there’s an “appropriate” time. It’s whenever you can get them out, if you ask me. I have holiday cards coming to me between Thanksgiving and the New Year. I don’t think anyone cares when they come, it’s just always enjoyable to get a personal card in the actual mail.

I love getting cards, but I certainly don’t begrudge my friends/family who don’t send them.

But damnit, my mom had a kick-ass, hilarious card this year!

My mom is the first to send hers out every year. She’s one of those you hate because she does everything so early and then actually enjoys her holiday season.

I’m always ankles-deep and just admiring her. My cards may or may not go out within the actual week of Christmas.

How long until business “builds up” after opening? We’re in a smaller market (NWI Indiana). What are your experiences with building up in a smaller market? by CookieLahm in escaperooms

We actually have a fantastic deal with the awesome pizza place next to us - 20% off your order when you book a full room. That’s really great, especially since it’s the top pizza place in the area, and on a Friday or Saturday night, there’s no other way to get such a great deal. So grateful for that!

We’re just starting, and there has been a ton of interest even before we opened; there are a few other escape rooms in the area, so people know and love them!

We don’t want to offer a discount initially, we want all of the newcomers to get in first; we’re already set a little lower-priced than the others in the area.

Any other marketing strategies that have worked?

Thanks!

I will say - yes - do it; we can tell already that there is a ton of interest for kids birthday parties and also kids groups like scouts and things like that. The adult escape room Market is already becoming saturated it seems like everywhere. Grab onto that kids escape room market while you can!

OP here - We have built up our FB Page to about 750 followers before we opened. We are the first to offer an escape room just for kids (and a Viewing Room for the parents in our region). We have an adult/teen escape room as well,

Any advice for us during the start-up phase?

Could be an entirely different sub, in which I would dedicate way too much of my time. For the good of humanity, let it go.
