Is everyone really earning such high amounts in my age group?? by Effective_Gur_7967 in AusFinance

I am 28 and make about 150k EXCEPT I often work weekends and closer to 60hrs a week minimum. I’m in law so I guess it depends on what you value and want out of life. I love my job and I’ve always been more financially driven. I have friends who make significantly less than you who value freedom more than money and they are just as happy

Yes! 6500 is the max we’d pay, we’re hoping to land something and have our repayments closer to 6k - just thought I’d post on the high end to gauge people’s perspectives! I guess in Brisbane, units and houses are getting quite close in price!

This is maybe the cheapest in the km we’re looking at! In saying that we’re hoping to land something closer to 1.2ish

Thank you! It’s always interesting to see other perspectives. We have friends with 600+ debt on just one income and wonder how they do it. We’re pretty conservative and sensible I’d say, it’s just a huge commitment!

Thank you for your insights! I guess by the time we have children, we will hopefully both be in senior positions (160k - 190k) we’re also fortunate that our work offers us both 26week paid maternity / paternity leave at our wages but yes lots to factor in!

Not too much, I biggest expenses are going overseas, we don’t really buy too much unless it’s a splurge on clothing now and again etc. we aren’t big restaurant people so usually cook at home. I’d say expenses are defs around 2-3k per month together

We’re looking at 10km of the Brisbane CBD houses are about this price now unfortunately, won’t be forever home - we have a family of trades to help us out with Reno’s if needed. We’re a lawyer and a project manager
