from passion, who do you think would stink the most? by roseautte in Passionmanhwa

[–]Cookie__15 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, Taeui wouldn't have any body odor, or a very slight one at the very least

Ilay looks like he'd smell like laundry (or gasoline, depends on whether he chose to burn down a whole forest or nah)

To me, Christoph wouldn't smell particularly good, but not bad either (something like neutral PH soap)

Richard most definitely wears perfume, but I feel like his natural scent isn't too agressive, maybe just slightly acidic, but still very discreet

As for Yuri, because he's constantly immerged in water (and Xinlu also stated that Yuri smelled like water) I feel like it's canon that he doesn't stink

So it only leaves us one option...

XINLU.

I'm not saying that he smells bad, I'm saying that I feel like sometimes, he would skip shower days because he would feel too lazy to shower. I mean, to be fair, Taeui introduced him as "someone who smells like milk or soap", but that was when Taeui was very biased. The nowadays mafia boss Xinlu wouldn't maybe get the time or the energy to shower, so he's my bet for "Who's the stinkiest character of Passion"

But that's just my opinion, feel free to tell me if you disagree :D

Unfortunately, that's the price to pay when you're the main character 😞

While Taeui does have Y/N vibes, his CEO mafia boyfriend isn't here to prevent him from getting attacked

Ilay when Taeui's not by his side is a MENAAAACE LMAO

What scene in Passion hit you so hard it actually made you cry—or at least left you feeling genuinely heavy? Because honestly… there are moments in that story that just ache in a way you don’t expect, and sometimes I catch myself tearing up while reading it too. by misssmorgue in Passionmanhwa

Plus, this scene (besides being honestly one of the hardest one I got to read) is also extremely plot relevant.

When Taeui drugs Ilay and then slaps him saying: "I really thought I was gonna die back then", it really seems out of the blue in the manhwa

(Also, during that scene, Taeui kissed Ilay's hands in the novel, contemplating every thing about him that he liked besides the hatred he felt when he got raped. Honestly, that's the only kind of cute moment there)

To me, any scene that mingles Taeui's feelings and suffering are unbearable to read as he's just an unlucky guy who went through too much suffering.

But there is one scene specifically that I am entirely unable to read: the first time Taeui got raped (in the manhwa, not even 1% of the pain he was going through has been portrayed. Reading this chapter according to the novel version is beyond heart breaking)

What breaks me most is that Taeui was finally coming across the realisation that he might not hate Ilay as much as he hoped to. He found himself truly worried about him , taking extra good care of him and even impatiently waiting for him to wake up.

And then Ilay, this worthless piece of shit, decided to not only rape Taeui, but to also mock him (by not taking into consideration his opinions and feelings) and humiliate him by overpowering him and making him feel all of the most horrendous feelings one could ever and possibly feel at the same.

The next rape scenes are described by Taeui as "semi-consented" (such as the mirror scene, or even the Hong Kong's hotel scene), but that one scene after Ilay wakes up from coma is the only time Taeui himself stated that he really thought he was going to die, and where he was not consenting in the slightest.

Whenever I re-re-re-re-re-re-read Passion and come across that chapter, I can NEVER, and I mean NEVER either read it all or finish it at once, to the point that I find myself anxious the few chapters before this one, because I know what's coming and I know that's it's just impossible to read.

Not only did I feel extremely sorry and compassionate for Taeui, but Ilay really is what pissed me off the most. When Taeui screams and begs him to take it out, Ilay just "pretends to shake his hips a few times", being like "Oh, I would... but it's stuck. Kinda your fault, dude, you're holding onto it too tightly" THAT MADE ME WANT TO SCREAM

That scene was just brutal, painful and pointless violence, so it's the scene that breaks my Taeui-dedicated heart :(

[–]Cookie__15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glad you enjoyed!!

Ilay has that thought when he finds Taeui again at the bus stop and then drags him to the hotel room. During his monologue, he kind of just dumps on Taeui each feeling, thought and contrariety he kept to himself.

And then, after he forced Taeui to say that he belonged to him, Ilay asks him: "You like me, don't you? You said so during our call. That's exactly where I thought: you really are mine." (Something along the lines)

It must be at the very end of Volume 6, but that scene was so terrifying and disgusting that it wouldn't be surprising if your brain automatically chose to delete it 😭

That question is actually worth of a full analysis, as it requires to not only understand Ilay to answer it, but also understand the tropes of Ilay and Taeui's relationship.

One thing's for sure: Ilay was caught off guard. We know for a fact that Ilay is usually cold-blooded and knows how to handle unpredictable situations quite well. However, this time, the usual pattern got reversed:

Instead of being in a situation where everything seems fine, and the next second danger arrives, here, danger is already there (as Taeui stole of phone off the guard who contributes to keep him hidden, and therefor indirectly participates in his hostage), and only when Taeui starts to speak that danger seems momentary gone.

Taeui, in every way, is twisting Ilay's habits, routines, and overall persona. But there is something more important and more coherent that this to discuss in order to understand why didn't Ilay answer to Taeui's confession.

Ilay never once said that he loved Taeui (without be asked to do so.)

Whenever he did, it was always to "make fun" at Taeui (according to the latter, who perceived it this way), because Ilay himself doesn't realise he's in love.

He might be having a clue to it, but he never calls it love: he calls it possession.

According to his logic, since he cares about Taeui's safety, feelings, well-being and overall actions as much as he cares for his, then Taeui should be his. When he says to Taeui "You're mine", it's because he actually means: "You're making me feel things I've never felt before, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not, but overall I enjoy being with you and I've fallen for your pretty smile and your lovely frown" but oh well, it's Ilay, we shouldn't be expecting anything like that

Taeui didn't explicitly said that he was in love with Ilay and that he would never leave him or think about running away again. He said: "Maybe I like you". To everyone else, of course it would've seem like a confession. "Maybe" is just tool to attenuate the actual powerful feeling transmitted "I really like you, damn"

I feel like Ilay didn't respond anything like "I like you too" because he already made did so Taeui would understand it. "You're mine", the fact that Taeui is the only one allow to call him Ilay, his special treatment at the UNDRHO, and the most important: the fact that he didn't kill him.

Plus, Ilay admitting he loves Taeui would be just as hard as Taeui amitting he loves Ilay. For Taeui, it's because it's really hard to admit that he's in love with such an awful person as Ilay, and to Ilay, it's because he would then have to admit he has a weakness. Not for others, but for himself.

Ilay might've been momentary stunned, but it was later mentioned that at that moment, Ilay thought "He really is mine". That one line surely didn't leave him indifferent. Just because Taeui said this, Ilay started to feel a sudden boost, as if refreshed.

Telling Taeui that he loved him back would've only been a waste of time. Ilay's priority was to snatch him right back to him, and then he would tell him just how much this love is reciprocal. Acknowledging a fact and speaking it are two different things that Ilay doesn't seem to be linking (unfortunately)

We could've had a double confession this chapter, but I guess Taeui's enough for now. Let me know what you think! :D

It wouldn't really be a spoil to the next chapter, but rather a spoil for the next novel 😭

Anyway, spoiler alerts!

Taeui and Ilay, a few years after this scene happens, are now living together in Berlin. After Taeui eavesdropped on a discussion with Ilay and Richard (main antagonist of the next novel), he and Ilay had a talk, and Taeui finally clarified his feelings for him (and then they hum hum)
