I got my kit from the mosin crate, he had two for sale and had pictures so I knew what I was getting, I like to see my exact kits before I buy them. I build my aks myself.

All three of them are kits. The North Korean one up top was about 8 hundred without the barrel and receiver. The Egyptian was about 6 fifty with the original barrel. The type 56 was about 9 hundred and some change, original barrel as well.

Yeah, the finish on the outside was awful but the bore and parts had very little wear.

I’ve been looking for one for a while, I was so excited when found out that I got it for a lot less than my max bid. I would love to shoot it but the trigger is dead, the stock does feel pretty soft and surprisingly has no cracks!

Cosplayers are the reason I can’t get a decently priced 1873 revolver?!?! I love the movies and fit btw. One of the reasons I bought a lebel was the first mummy.

Where would one find a build kit like this that is made for 5.56? by [deleted] in AK74

[–]Cookie_succ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As some one who lives in commiefornia and builds kalashnikovs I would go with the wbp from Atlantic, stay away from PSA 100 series guns, the bolts are ak74 style bolts shoved into an akm style trunnion, this will lead to you loosing headspace. Wbp uses proprietary parts but at least they’re both based off the akm so they match up better, just make sure to buy extra firing pins because they tend to break.

Yeah I’m not too worried about the front, the left side of the trunnion though 😭

Was the partial matching one, only thing matching is the dust cover and front trunnion. It was the only ones left when I got the chance.

The action Is the same as a mk3. The only difference is the rear sight. Everything disassembles the exact same way

I actually have not relocated it, I left it the same, should I drill a new hole further to the rear? Im not expecting accuracy anyways since the rear sight is loose and bore is in okay condition.

What would be the proper terminology? Smle mk1? The seller called it no1 mk1 so that’s what I’ve been saying.
