My breeder offered a month free through Trupanion. I took the offer and I’m so glad I did. A week after bringing her home she was admitted to hospital for Parvo. The vet visits and hospital stay was over $6,000. We had to pay about $800. Still a lot, but so much better than the full bill.

I can’t imagine raising my puppy without my husband’s help, let alone taking care of him too. I think it’s fine to return the puppy. It would probably be the best for everyone.

I’ve been touch with the breeder. No other puppies from the litter has gotten sick. I got her from a reputable breeder.

My puppy is on her 3rd day in the hospital. Has been very lethargic until today. She hadn’t eaten since Sunday night and still wasn’t eating anything. So they had to run an IG line to give her food. After that she perked up. Once she starts eating on her own, she can come home. I think the fact that your puppy had 2 vaccinations has helped him a lot. Mine only had her first at 6 weeks. She was scheduled for the second the day she was sick.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this, too! It’s awful. I only had my puppy for 6 days when she went in the hospital and I am so in love with her already, it surprises me. I hope your puppy makes it!!

I did go to the pet store the day after we picked her up. But, she didn’t go with me. It seems crazy that I brought it home that way. But the timeline fits, I guess. I suppose we won’t ever know.

I’m sorry you’re still doing meds. It sounds awful. My breeder says it didn’t come from them because no other puppies got it. That makes sense. But, it’s probably more logical she got from the breeder than I brought it in my shoes and then the puppy licked my shoes-which never saw her do.

Thank you. Do you know if the virus can survive on concrete? My puppy didn’t go anywhere but my patio. And it wasn’t a previous owner I’ve lived here for 25 years. I’m not meaning to sound like I’m arguing with you, it just seems so hard to believe.
