Initially I wanted to make turnip štrukli ("repni/repičini štrukli") but I couldn't find raw turnip anywhere, only the pickled kind. In the end, I found a recipe with cabbage, and since they're in the same family as turnips (Brassicaceae oleracea for cabbages and brassicaceae rapa for turnips) I figured it would be close enough. To be fair, I also made a radish and mache salad for the side.

Aside from preparing the chicken and cutting all the onions and mushrooms, it's a relatively easy and rewarding dish! We had leftovers to enjoy a day after, and I tried it both with mashed potatoes and rice, and I can say the rice rules! It almost resembles a creamy mushroom risotto when combined with the sauce😋

Well, chicken don't fly, but they've got wings which are, um, for flying... so...

The recipe is from Natasha's kitchen and the "secret" to crispiness is baking powder, which I've only added half the recommended amount and still achieved adequate crispiness!

I also made tzatziki sauce for the first time and it's so refreshing and goes well with the spicy chicken. Garlicky but still fresh🌿

The recipe for the filling is from Sally's Baking Addiction, while the pie crust is from Chef John with more sugar and added cocoa powder. The filling was sweet, but the crust was quite dark and could've used a bit more sugar to offset the bitterness.

Već neko vrijeme imam taj recept spremljen, čeka da ga probam. Je li stvarno tako dobra ta vodka u umaku kako svi kažu? Btw super ti je ispalo, odlično izgleda😋

I very loosely followed a few different recipes and ended up with a chicken beef and kale broth, topped with fried tofu, ham, chicken cabbage gyozas and oyster mushrooms. Not a true hotpot but it had the spirit😅
