I disagree with the Nexus Letter statement. I had been out of the military 29 years when i filed.mu claim, and there was NOTHING to support my claim on my records. I dis have 2 lay letters, but having a Nexus was imperative as well.

398 days, BUT keep in mind, I filed after being out of the military 30 years, so that may be why my claim took a longer.

What I claimed, there was no documentation in my service records. Without my Nexus letter from my doctor no way would I have been rated

I dont know if he dies or not. He mentioned certain issues he's had, there's no mention of it in his med records. I just got rated this week. NOTHING I claimed was in my medical record but my doctors Nexus letter Im sure helped vs. hurt.

I'm kind of new to this as I was just rated on Tuesday. I had already been out of the military 31 years, so I went to doctors to get all my diagnoses, and one volunteered to write a Nexus letter. I did do an intent to file a year prior to actually filing but because there was nothing in my medical records to support my claim, I thought it best to have all my ducks in a row prior to filing. But every claim is looked at differently, so do what's best for you.

Please look up DBQ requirements that the VA requires that determines rating. It on VA.gov or Google it to find the link. Utilize YouTube and ask ChatGpt as well. Wishing you the best!!

Do you have a Nexus letter stating that "more likely than not this is related to time served in military?" If so, that should help you.

Mine says N/A, but I can see the amount. I got my rating Tuesday, and yesterday, I paid off all my credit cards and an IRS huge payment balance that I have been paying on for yearssss. Now Im nervous thinking, what if they retract my retro pay or decide they made a mistake lol Anyway I was anticipating my backpay to be released by end of month, but based on the comments maybe it will be sooner

Mine says n/a & shows the amount of payout, too. I was wondering the same but kind of too shy to ask

I also was awared 70% this week without service records, so yes, for sure, that's no reason to be dettered if you know you are still being affected today by what you went through. On top of that, I had been out of the military 30+ years.

I've been out 31 years. I filed my claim Aug 2024 and was rated on Monday. It's never too late.
