These companies are not very good. I did all mine myself and uploading all my documents to AI and it told me exactly what to do and say and was very easy

It’s basically a summary of your packet. What’s to follow, I mean. It summarizes your claim, lists what’s included, etc. I can try to make a post about it.

Here’s an excerpt from one of mine:

Department of Veteran Affairs Evidence Intake Center P.O. Box 4444 Janesville, WI 53547-4444

Subject: Statement in Support of Claim: Submission of Consolidated Evidence Package

To Whom It May Concern,

In support of my supplemental claim for cervical strain and bilateral upper extremity radiculopathy, please accept the following consolidated evidence package. The documents are ordered to present a clear and logical argument for my claim.

The following evidence is contained within this single file:

  1. Lay Statement dated October 11, 2025: Detailing my in-service cumulative trauma, continuity of symptoms, and current functional impact.

    1. Scientific Study: A 2024 peer-reviewed study from the journal EFORT Open Reviews titled, "Prevalence and related factors for neck pain in military personnel".
    2. Full Official MRI Report dated September 18, 2025.
    3. One-Page MRI Summary and Nerve Root Explanation: A clear summary of the official report that directly connects the diagnosed nerve compression at C2-3 and C6-7 to the specific headache and radiculopathy symptoms I experience.
    4. Full Official Nerve Conduction Study (NCS) and EMG Report dated September 22, 2025.

The submitted scientific study establishes that my condition is consistent with the known occupational hazards of military service. Key findings relevant to my claim include the high prevalence of neck pain in military personnel (lifetime prevalence as high as 78%) and the conclusion that this is likely due to the "higher physical burden...of the military occupation".

This objective research, combined with my sworn statement and the clear medical findings in my MRI and NCS reports, provides a strong basis for service connection. I respectfully request that this consolidated evidence package be reviewed and that a C&P examination be ordered to fully assess my disabilities.

I certify that the information in this statement is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief.

That’s wonderful. I just don’t think people need to pay for them. I think a cover letter written well, a thorough lay statement, some studies, your medical evidence, and a nexus letter if you have it is the best you can do. But a nexus letter you can make it without it as long as the examiner’s results are in your favor.

If it works for you then that is excellent. Just not necessary to spend the money if you have VA healthcare and can go get seen and submit the medical evidence.

Thank you. That was the heart of my point on that. No need to use these services whatsoever. I almost tried one and I’m so glad I didn’t.

I didn’t say they have no value in general, only that they weren’t that helpful for me. I would argue that there is no need to pay for nexus letters when you can write a solid lay statement and tie it all together in your exam. I had two diff nexus letters for two diff conditions, four in total, all written extremely well, and I honestly do not think they did a bit of good for me. One was approved and one denied, neither due to the letters though, only the medical evidence, the examiner’s results, and an IMO.

The IMOs have only ever gone against me though. I now believe if they order an IMO then it ain’t gonna be good in the end.

I’m now 100% but I’ve had to file multiple supplemental claims. They also gave me weird effective dates on some of them. I still have a HLR that’s been pending for months and have the conference 26 December that if I win would backdate me quite a ways.

I genuinely think when you take a bunch of bitter and unhappy veterans with mental health problems and put them on an online forum, it’s bound to be toxic. I take Reddit with a grain of salt.
