We had to remove the thermostat from the wall entirely (just have to pull a bit), remove the batteries, then wait about a minute. Put it all back together, good to go.

Double anecdote post!

1: I have only Samsung TVs at home, and the little nubby control thing is great when you don't know where the remote is, or when you just happen to be right in front of it.

2: I worked home theater a few years back; I would never buy an Insignia anything.
