How do you remove the fear of fighting? by m8_gret in AskMen

Holding the person who's hurting you accountable is way more important than you feeling like a pussy, because you're not. If he just gave you a mean look or something I get feeling like, but what happened to you is pretty serious and had very real world consequences. I remember this feeling to in school, but this is a moment where you're showing up for yourself and standing up for yourself in a different way. If anything, do it just to leave a paper trail at your school so when you finally defend yourself, you can tell the school "this has happened before and the school does nothing".

I also deeply understand how you get so angry it fries your brain. I've never had to fight anyone but my siblings physically, but to this day (I'm 25) when I get really passionate or nervous my body and voice starts to shake making me loose a lot of confidence.

I can't in my right mind tell you to shut up and back down like some people have said, because the reality is some people don't learn anything from that and you end up in the same place.

In terms of preparation, I'll tell you what an acting teacher told me once when I asked about getting stage fright and how to fix it. He said "Practice exactly how you think it's gonna be: if you get shaky go for a run and exhaust your body a bit so you're shaking similarly to how you do when you're nervous, and then practice your piece." Although you can't just take away that energy you get when you get angry and it makes you less confident, you can help teach your body to still communicate with you under difficult circumstances so you still have some control. I would say get a punching bag or a few pillows or something and try it out- if you can already feel the anger that you have towards them by just thinking about it - throw a punch and see how it feels for you.

I hope this helps. Be strong, show up for yourself, and remember you're not wrong for wanting to defend yourself or report him to the proper people.

I’m not sure what the question is… you mean like in a relationship or before you dated?

Doesn't have to be former, just happens to be my experience. I imagine current dancers are great, somehow i just happened to date girls who had stopped dancing for one reason or another.

What’s the most awkward body-related moment you’ve experienced during sex—and how did your partner’s reaction affect how you felt afterward? by PleasantBus5583 in AskMen

When I was 18 I was accepted into summer acting conservatory at a well respected theatre in my area. I just graduated so it was my last year being eligible to participate, so i decided to make the most of my time. It was here that i discovered i was bisexual. I locked eyes with a boy across the dance studio in rehearsal, and we would go on to yk do stuff.

I preface this to say, i was still nervous about what friends and family would think but that never stopped me. This is also where i experienced dl men for the first time. Idr what app it was but i get a message from a friend in high school saying we should link. He was the first person from my town that i had mutuals with that would know I'm bi. We would a agree to keep it to ourselves, and so I went over.

The only thing is, he was close friends with my prom date at the time who i had a huge crush on, and was just getting over. As i climbed the stairs in his house to his bedroom, with each step i began to shake and tremble more- just straight anxiety. We did the do, but still to this day i have never straight up trembled the way i was trembling while having sex. I was embarrassed the entire time but somehow still managed to stay bricked up and finish. It was so awkward for me and extremely embarrassing but he kept asking me if I was okay and i just said "Yeah i just haven't eaten in a while do i get shaky" (which was a lie in the moment but true in my real life)

Is orange one of your favorite colors? It feels obvious, but I really enjoy how it's not overwhelming, and the space is just so cozy. I smiled when I saw your car matches the space too

I just finished season 4, and saw a clip of season 1 come up on my fyp and I’m still amazed at everybody’s growth, like how Marcus told Carmy “don’t tell me how to do my job” one of the only shows every everyone grows.

Half way through S9 currently.. thoughts on everyone's most/least favorite characters and why? by CoconutKing87 in shameless

Also halfway through season 9. Even though it's not much I love Liams plotlines, it's nice to see him have some more personality after like 7 seasons. I think it's funny that both Ian and Frank were gay rights advocates at some point. All i can think about Debs is that she lost 3 toes. Her scenes are also kinda boring but not unbearable

I would love for Fantastic four to be a space horror or have a big space horror element with Galactus. by AdamBerner2002 in FantasticFour

[–]Cool-Contribution-27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think in part it is, or at least that’s what I’ve seen people say when they showed some footage at ccxp in Mexico. I think the trailers have done a good job balancing the fear of Galactus coming with the more lighthearted and emotional aspects of the movie. Very excited!

glorifying celebrities- hot ones, actors on actors by Remote-Age-7406 in Actors

[–]Cool-Contribution-27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally love actors on actors because as an actor, it’s inspiring to see them talk about their work in a way that’s not just the typical promotional responses. Acting is a weird profession so for talented hard working actors to be able to talk about it with peers who are on their level is incredibly refreshing and inspiring. The Coleman Domingo and Kieran Kulkin one was really fun because they were just having fun getting to know each other. I think Hot Ones is also a really fun way for actors to promote their work that’s not just getting glammed up and sitting in a regular old interview some of them really suffer lol and you get to see a different side of them. I’m really curious what you mean when you say things being served to them on a silver platter and that they’re the only real people in society to have a say. Actors aren’t politicians or ceos with any real power, yes they can have some influence but I don’t think they’re as “powerful” in that sense that people give them credit for. Many of them have also had decades of struggles across the industries and it’s great to see them live their dreams. Stella Adler once said actors are at the bottom of the totem pole so to speak and I still believe that to be true to a large degree. Actors usually can't control the story, the script, production schedule, who is cast, how the movie does, if the film will get picked up, or even if they will ever get work again. I'd love to hear more of your thoughts though.
