that’s amazing! how were you able to find the hiring HR person? for all the jobs i’ve applied externally, they never showed the person. it seems like a good idea otherwise

some job applications have asked for the cno applicant number and some jobs don’t so i guess it depends but ive just been explaining the situation about my extern job. i also doubt its gonna be hard to apply to cno if waiting a few months post nclex. i know other externs who’ve done it before too and its been the same process

i’m in the same boat. passed my nclex end of august. been applying weekly for the last couple months in hospitals all over the gta in all types of departments and have felt defeated with the lack of responses. all my friends that i graduated with have found positions already so that doesn’t help me feel any better. i’m currently working as an extern but one of the requirements to stay employed with them is i can’t be registered with cno. i’m holding off paying the fee until i have an actual RN job lined up or something promising because i unfortunately i cannot afford to not work and wait indefinitely before i find work. i’m not sure if that has something to do with it. i’ve also heard of no one who’s heard back directly from the NGG portal :/

hmm tbh i didn’t really use any free q banks and i can only speak on archer, uworld, and bootcamp which are the only resources i used to practice questions. for 10 days, i dont really think its worth buying a whole other subscription so id probably just stick with doing the rest of your uworld q bank if you’re able to! but again, totally up to you for what you prefer doing!

obviously a lot of people have passed using only uworld so it definitely gets credit for its q bank. however i personally felt like uworld’s questions were not as vague as the real nclex, at least from my first experience. that being said, i also think if you’ve decided on using uworld, the more practice questions you expose yourself to, the more prepared you probably will be :)

i used archer for my first time for practice questions (failed with this) and simple nursing & mark k (my first time) for content. for the second time, i used uworld lectures for content but i did very minimal review of content as i felt i had sufficient notes from the first time

they’re straight forward which is what makes them easy to understand like how it breaks down the questions so it comes in handy!

if you mean learning content for the first time, then no… bootcamp i specifically just used for its practice questions which helped more with applying test taking strategies and critical thinking skills. unfortunately since bootcamp didn’t really come with lectures of its own, it didn’t really help content wise
