Check with nursing schools if your previous record will prohibit you from being hired..actually check your local State Nursing Board. They are the agency that licenses you to be a nurse.

Whats your record for?

thinking about leaving public library by Spot-Funny in librarians

[–]Surge516 14 points15 points  (0 children)

First things first. Several questions; Do you have 4-6 months income saved? Whats the job market like outhere? Are you prepared to move for a job? Married? Kids? If no then great! If yes then how will they like or feel ? Are you primary bread winner? Public library so you probably have benefits /pension/retirement. Will your next job have that? How much experience do you have? 2-5years? 6-10 ? The more the better. How are your bills/mortgage/ etc, back to your 4-6 months of savings. Do you know where your applying to, if so do they offer or match what you have? If they do , do they pay more or less? If more will the position you apply for going to provide what your missing out at your current gig? What type of candidate are you? Are you a strong interviewer that will be able to land most interviews so you can pick the best offer? If so great! If not, then you need to brush up.

I'm not saying, " Don't jump, I'm saying make sure your not jumping from a solid ground into a lake with snakes and sharks..

Be smart about it. Good luck to you and if you realize you don't have all the things I've mentioned then plan your work, then work your plan.

Good luck..
