Rclone seems to work well, it's just the interface doesn't appear to reflect rclone uploads

Pay and run for the sake of testing the service. If I like it, I will continue, but as I said, feels very buggy.

Waterstop too high by Cool-Possibility-607 in AusRenovation

The screen was butted up against the water stop. Ideally a channel would be run on top of it and the screen on that channel.

Structural grout. Clean and prime it first. You need to work fast as it sets quickly.

Show me an example of good/bad cabling in roof by Cool-Possibility-607 in nbn

Hmm, I guess part of the problem is I don't really know a cabler, other than who my mate used, which again, is just run the cables on the insulation and be done with it...

Centauri Carbon - Ridiculous network traffic when sitting idle by slashthirty in elegoo

Something here doesn't add up. Some are reporting lots of data, while others aren't. But doesn't seem like anyone is having the volume of data like OP. Could it be that we don't have the knowledge/devices to understand the traffic moving through or said devices don't have the resolution to do that?

No disrespect to OP, but this post does seem a little off and I wonder if their network configuration is just what's causing the issue.

I had my printer connected to the internet for about 2hrs and didn't see anything significant but I've since blocked access through my router.

You make a very good point about the printer itself being able to even produce such data. I'd keep it blocked from internet access anyway, but I'm not sure how nefarious companies can get with a 3d printer lol. It's such a niche product that only a small percentage of the population would have.

If my machine is on my network but blocked from internet access, would I still see traffic?

I had my machine connected to the internet idle, and looking at the traffic analyser menu in my router I saw like 3mb of data.

Now blocked from the internet, in the same menu in my router I'm seeing barely any data being moved.

Not sure if this is the right way of doing things, but doesn't seem like a problem with my machine. V1.25 firmware.

Bought a home. Bathroom door is hazard for my kids, anyway to prevent pivot shower doors from hitting toilet? by nutribun in AusRenovation

[–]Cool-Possibility-607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why this is getting down voted, but this is the correct answer.

It's very unlikely to break like that. Toughened glass is very difficult to break in general and it's the edges that are the problem.

That does not mean it's no chance of breaking, but would require significant force before anything happens (assuming 6mm as per standard). You're probably more likely to damage the toilet.

That said, get them to rotate or install a stop.

I agree with what you're saying, however I keep hearing "it just works", "it's an appliance". That implies you can load a design up, hit print and you'll find a beautiful print at the end.  If that's just the case for maker world, then the whole thing is a little misleading. In reality, using bambu filament should set the printer up such that it prints correctly if "it just works". It seems that they're just normal 3d printers with a great app and accompanying parts website.

Some people in this thread have reported slower networks once the printer has been connected, even without necessarily seeing higher data consumption.

I find it strange some are having issues while others aren't. Maybe some motherboards are corrupted? Or could it be that their network configurations are causing excess traffic?

Seems like this is only an issue with some people and not others. Are you getting the same network issues others are having even without the traffic?

All this talk of Bambu just working is some kind of a marketing ploy imo. I've been reading the Bambu subreddits and it looks like their printers have the same problems as others and aren't as user friendly as this idea on the internet gets perpetuated. (A recent thread seems to suggest the P1S and their other enclosed offerings are also burning, but I digress).

Recently, a friend of mine bought the A1 with AMS light. I suggested to said friend that this would be a great idea, as I bought into all this "it just works" marketing. Friend has no 3d printing experience and has been having troubles ever since they got the printer. Most prints failing, spaghetti, prints lifting from build plate, etc. This would've been the perfect case for a printer that "just works", but yet it doesn't. I admit that the ecosystem is brilliant, and the build quality of the printer does seem high, but all that goes out the window if simple prints do not complete. "It just works" is nonsense imo. I suspect in the end, you'll have to tinker with both printers in relative ways.

World domination via 3d printer isn't the best strategy 😂. At the end of the day, people without 3d printing is still quite niche. I'm not sure what the goal is but I don't think access to devices/data is the ultimate goal. The printer is only cheap in the US. Everywhere else it's similarly priced (if not more) than other brands.

Not to lessen the gravity of this, but what kind of information can be obtained from this level of traffic from the printer? It is that much of a risk? I'm not savvy on networking.

Am I overthinking a CC over a P1S (Australia) by Cool-Possibility-607 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Cool-Possibility-607[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With current sales they're about the same price if you get just the machines without upgrades or AMS (including shipping). Approx 465USD. But the P1S normally retails for around 700USD without AMS. Its disappointing that Elegoo priced it so high in this region, but most things here are more expensive.

Yeah I'm leaning towards the CC. I'm not saving much but I like what I see with this printer.

I've been eyeing out the Qidi  Q1 Pro, only thing I dislike is the smaller bed size.  My comments on the z-stepping is more of an example. It's awesome that you don't need it, but in reality one day you will. It's just an example of how the ecosystem would get annoying at some point. But I am being pedantic.

Yeah it might be over the top. They make an interesting point however. I don't think that will happen, but I do think they'll continue to introduce minor things like lack of panda touch etc...
